I think these artifacts shows up in Borderlands 2 with 12.8 as well, but they are very rare.
Have not seen them in Battlefield 3.

Is there correlation betwen theese artifacts and PSU and PCI 3.0 MBO/Ivy Bridge ?
For example did artifacts happened when you plugged GPU on older PCI 2.0 MBO's or it also happens on PCI 3.0 MBO with fresh install W7 sp1?
    7850 requires 500 W PSU

I have used my 7970 in two different computers, the one in my signature and my older i920 system with a 750 W supply. I have seen artifacts on both.

All the games I have tried that make use of Unreal Engine 3 have been affected. I don't have Borderlands 2, so I'm not entirely sure... But since that game uses Unreal Engine 3 as a base, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it's also affected by this problem.

I can second that, It UT Engine seems to have most issues with artifacts.

I did not see any artifacs in Batman - AC. In Borderlands 2, kind of like in skyrim, the artifacs will start show up if you stand in certian places, while other locations seems artifact-free.

Nice post generally... I didn't even know what I was looking for in this thread until your post.

In Borderlands 1 this strange thing happens a lot... Play one hour and you will probably notice it. I mean, it's completely reproducible there. On BF3 I don't have it either. On BF3 I had some worse random black lines appearing, like other people, but that lasted only the first 1-2 weeks I had the card.

Also, I do have the 50 random block errors. I have the card since first week they came out, and my crashes so far are only related to unstable overclocking. Now that I know the correct values, I don't have any crash, just this on Borderlands.

The 50 Random Blocks are "normal" the programm is just broken, it's been 2 years since the last update.
The Black lines in BF3 you're speaking about was a known issue as far as i know, so thats also normal.
I dont have Borderlands, but if it looks like a short black flicker im sure it's the Problem we're talking about. I just wonder that you guys seem to have it more frequent than i do. Here it can be gone for around 2 weeks and then it will happen again.
Maybe it's because your card is faster than mine? Maybe it's something like a "hickup"? I really don't know im just glad that you people seem to share this issue.

The only thing i can suggest is keep writing AMD about that issue www.amd.com/report

I really start spaming them. Whenever i play my games and see it again i write them, even if it is the same game again and again. I just want this problem gone and i dont know what else to do than annoying AMD with it till they fix it.

    The program works perfectly.

This is my result - no errors.
Also my card is as stable as a rock even with 150Mhz core overclock. Coincidence? I think not...

I fired up my modern warfare 2 copy and experience the black flickers too. As for my other games, they run ok.

I don't OC my graphics card and it's quite new.

Sent a bug report to AMD. Hopefully they will get to it.

@Pill That's really worrying, but do you test that program on a 7xxx series card? All the guys who face the 50 random blocks have 7xxx series card. If you have, then it might be a serious problem since you get no errors, unlike us...

@ClockClocker yes, for that short black flicker I'm talking about. Borderlands is Dx9 game, likewise... Do you think the problem concerns Dx9 only? Anyway... I just sent a detailed summary.

Incidentally, are you using HDMI-HDMI connection?

You're using a 6950. The link that this tool is broken for Thaiti/pitcairn already been posted. So stop scaring people. Tbh no one cares what your 6950 does - we're talking about a 7000 Issue here.

    @NiColaoS
im using DVI. The problem has nothing to do with the connection, since you can record the issue. I heard the problem is also present on Heaven Benchmark which is DX11 so i doubt that it is DX9 related.

You're the one talking trash buddy, maybe you should have read the whole thread like I did.

The error was supposedly present in cards using GCN. GCN is what is what the 69xx uses.

Obviously it shows there is a hardware (memory) problem with the 7xxx cards that are having issues.

May be my bad english skills but doesn't that proof that there IS an issue with memtest, and that there is only a sourcecode released which is supposed to fix it? If so, well, nobody runs that version of the test, everybody is using the bugged version. And again i asked in many different forums and i didn't met anyone who have no errors in the test (doesn't matter if the card is working fine or not), except one Person who is using a mobile Version of the 7000series.

That would make around 98% of faulty cards.

What is the build date for your memcl.exe file? Mine is August - 3 months after that thread started..

I downloaded it from Softpedia, this is the link if you want to try it out, maybe it has the "fix" included.

Thanks for the link but it's the same and it is build 2010. It's really strange. Because honestly that would be the worst Series ever. Everybody i know and in every forum i asked there was around 80-90% who had the same erros at the same test.

    **Edit**
I wonder why you dont have that "bug" then? Shouldn't you also expierience it when you're using the bugged Memtest?

Just ignore Pill monster. It's clear he's trolling.

I posted conclusive proof that there is a source code problem with MemtestCL and the Tahiti/GCN cards, and that a code fix was already released.
