Is HD4650 a low-end card? Can it do above 30FPS at 1024x768 resolution in most of the games(except Crysis and etc)...if its coupled with a nice dual core and 2GB ram?
    What do u guys say?

    See this...is HD4650 ddr2 really capable of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0Lx3KUqYxo

P.S its a GDDr2 card.....and don't SUGGEST ME OTHER CARDS and ASK FOR MY BUDGET AND ETC....I am only seeking answer to the question above:)

Like GeoD said, you might have to lower a setting or two, like medium details...no AA,depending on the game.Older games will probably play at max, newer games on low.

I had a chance to mess with this card a while back and yeah it will play at 1280x at around 30FPS+. The most performance you could get from this card benefiits form overclocking the memory on it. After that, the rest of the games could hold above 30FPS.
Did you already buy it? Dont get a 1GB version as there is no difference in performance from the 512.

Normally I wouldnt even recommend this card as you can usually find a Nvidia 9600GSO or 9600GT for the same price and its 2x faster.

4650 is a nice card for 1024x768, but that the least of a problem. The real issue you must think about is how to avoid GDDr2. If you can find the same card with GDDr3 would be great. Otherwise it will rock on games on that resolution, except for the newest ones.

Tell me related to GDDR2 version only.....And guys is there any visual difference between 30 and 40FPS?

    The point being i already own XFX HD4650 1GB DDR2 and now i am buying a E5300 + 2GB ram.....And i will oc e5300 to 3.5ghz...So will E5300@3.5+2GB ram+4650 deliver 30+frames in most games at 1024x768?

You dont NEED more RAM. To test it out, open up any game and a few apps. Minimize everything and check task manager>performance and see how much you are using.
You will get more performance from overclocking the E5300 some, but I really dont know how that PSU is gonna hold it up. 3.2ghz will give you a safe little jump.

On a side note, you dont want to aim for 30FPS really, you want to aim higher and you do not want your FPS to go below 30 or else its really noticable. Many console games are locked at 30FPS believe it or not. If you are used to seeing that, then its all good.

Dont couple a GTS250 with a 350W PSU. If you plan to OC and have a higher end video card, at least get a economical 500W from a company like CoolerMaster, Thermaltake, etc.

Question is not how long it will last, but how long will you settle for just 1024x768? You havent seen how cheap widescreen LCD's are nowadays? You can always find sales for 18-20" ones for $99.

    Foreverrrrrr.

If you plan to stick to 1024x768, you can literally play any game out here cranked up with the highest details and anti aliasing with no problem if you have a GTS250.

its hard to say how long it will perform well because there are so many variables involved...mainly in how games will be developed and how drivers will mature to play these games...i would guess a couple years with a gts 250.

Can you get the nVid cards for £28~32 quid ???
Because that is what I gave for some of my HD4650 cards they are easy to find at that price, I doubt new 9600 GT's are, and as I understand it there is nothing that can come close for the same price.

As too how many years will it last ...well until you want another card, be honest ask a silly question get a...
