Thank you so much for this finding Guzz!

Results are phenomenal, official flag for Dead Space 0x0000000F, subtle effect IMO. Simply changing that string increased effect strength without any drawbacks.

    Head esplode...
Sucks that we would have to edit it each time and revert it when needed.

Though this seems to open up all kinds of new possibilities! And maybe makes official flags make more sense (Since they always seem to be sequential in numbering)

Though I don't have the time to really test much these days.

We need a custom hex-edit tool to speedup the tweaking process :D

So with this logic is it at all possibly to get AO into wildstar? It's free to play now, i'm wondering if anyone has found anything usable? It would really make this game look that much better imo.

i found that the flag 0x00000024 same as blade kitten works with the New Tales of Zestiria, but in my opinion it's way too strong and sometimes it's annoying.

you can try, other flags may cause the game lag and practically do nothing and other breaks the game.

if you put it in performance mode the effect will be an outline only, like a cell shaded effect.

    no AO:

edit: nope this flag looks ugly specially in cutscenes, i recommend using reshade or something if anyone wants AO, or find a better flag

That flag bleeds as well. I'm gonna try out other UE3 flags and see what happens.

all of them does the same, 2F is a little less strong and others only works on interiors like houses, caves or dungeons, the only way to use ao in this game is using reshade alchemy SAO, every other AO method looks terrible.

Yeah I tried all the flags in ToZ down from the top to 1F.

One of them I can't remember which, just showed the depth buffer it looked like..

But yeah i stopped after that. A lot of the buildings seem to have some ao baked in, but the outside world could use it.

Personally I'm not really comfortable with all this hacking of driver .DLL files.
And most likely the same could be accomplished using combinations of "undefined" driver AO bits.
The main problem still is the lack of proper documentation.

Pardon my ignorance, but are there any asura engine flags?
I guess i gotta check out 0x00160000 if it really works, since i've been playing SE3, ZAT a lot and i've never been a fan of their AO implementation.

Not any that anyone has been able to find so far anyway. Those are both DX11, so you'll have to experiment.
