Yes. 21 is better. It does not have the "cube". Does not appear through the interface. Rarely flickers.

Check the hex value vs "Disabled" and "Enabled"

    Both are 0x00000001

DXIW is a D3D8 game.....is it really working in D3D8?!!!! Just wow :|

Please MrBonk, remove the warning about D3D8 games in the first post, I was wrong!

He might be using the thing that whitespider posted to convert DX8>9

But based on the screenshots..says D3D8. Strange! I've never gotten it to give any effect in a dx8 game.

Yes I did say both are 0x01, but then again so was by TF2 AA fix and only 0x01 worked instead of enabled or something like that.. Thought maybe its the same now for those games specifically named there, e.g. have something extra that's not here with normal "enabled 0x01"

You are welcome to try and see what happens when testing it!

It'd be nice if it actually worked. But somehow I am thinking this is just the default profile setting of "enabled"

It also works in Hitman 2, but I couldn't find a flag that didn't have bugs. Didn't try all of them though.

Interesting that it's working at all in DX8 games. I'm glad there is some kind of semblance to what HBAO+ needs to inject itself.

    Interesting!!

Ingame AO in FC4 is really bad upon closer inspection :puke2:
HBAO+ is way too dark and actually creates aliasing, while SSBC and SSAO are simply inaccurate and strange looking.
Better to disable AO altogether in this game, and spend the GPU power on something else:

I didn't try to force driver AO in FC4 yet, but most likely this won't yield anything due to the complex post processing and lighting used in Dunia 2 :(

lol :D this is how nvidia sees it as best, its the same in COD Ghosts or any other game with nvidia HBAO+ ingame option.

And I agree, its too overdone.

I opt for SSBC in the end, from distance it looked best and not overdone. Although I already uninstalled it now, got bored :infinity:

Well, I'm not sure that is true in general.
Ingame HBAO+ looks very good in for example Watch Dogs and Batman: Arkham Origins.
But in FC4 it is just god awful, even in the latest 1.8.0 patch.
And SSBC and SSAO are not much better, they also look terrible especially indoors.

Besides I really need the extra GPU power anyway to get playable performance at 3840x2400 in FC4 :D

    2nd Comparison

    HBAO+: http://abload.de/img/1elpp4t.png

Notes: In order to use HBAO+, Sneaky Upgrade Mod must be installed (thanks to lowenz, who mentioned the mod), it's crucial since it fix the flickering present in the flag. Here's the fix.
Unfortunately it bleeds through some game elements: 1 2 3 4
Tested and working with 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions.
