The 'Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKS-00V0A0 ATA Device' shows up in the motherboard bios, but when I try to install a fresh Windows 7 x64 the hard drive is not listed.

Only 1 of the 2 hard drives are shown, Ive tried use drivers from a usb but makes no difference.

So I have to install windows on 'Western Digital WDC WD5000AVVS-63H0B1 ATA Device'.
When windows has finished installing, both drives are listed & shown & working.

So does anyone know how to get both drives to show on the install of windows.

Ive tried new sata cables and different sata ports, makes no difference.

Open Start, right click on computer and then "manage". Go to "Disk Management", choose your unformated HDD and then create a new partition.

Need to format it in disk management first

Use the Western Digital Data Lifeguard Tools CD to format the drive.Should of came with your HD unless you bought them as OEM
