Quite a good read, and at least brings some closer to the episodes if that was the story they were going with. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/half-life-writer-shares-episode-3-details/1100-6452861/
Retarded gamespot not posting the translated version, here it is https://pastebin.com/q9DMFa7c edit, oh wow, click to expand quotes, that's a really good feature
We have to get used to that...HL3 will never be made.In a way, this could the closure of the saga. But lacks catharsis, at least for me.
HL2 had changes to the script before it was released, the bit with Mossman getting shot by Alyx seems a bit stupid imo.
Dunno, if this is confirmed as near official and someone can contact this write r on private channels for additional input u think an episode 3 could be done in like 5 years of community modding
Gaben's too busy swimming in all that money from his 30% cut from the work of actual game studio's to care
Who needs HL3 when we can have a dota card game with micro-transactions? Seriously, you're all a bunch of spoiled, self-entitled brats. Enjoy the card game. /s
HL is one of the best PC games to date, too bad that they have decided to halt the sequels, but who knows, maybe one day the developers change their minds about this great game and make the HL3 at least., or another new episode of HL2.
Well presented overview of HL and the problems, conflicts that plagued Valve that basically put an end to the continuity of the series. If an HL3 ever comes into being, it wont involve the same personnel who had worked on past installments of the game, therefore could be radically different if it ever comes to being.
Half Life 3 confirmed! Spoiler sorry, couldn't resist... probably the worst gaming joke / meme ever. So far...
Stop buying games through Steam and they will have to start developing again (not that I cared that much, I like the setting but the linearity of the games is horrid)
Project Borealis is the next best thing. Okay it's not a real-to-life Valve production, but basing the game off the HL3 script is a good start. And who knows, Valve has a record of supporting modders into producing fully fledged titles, so Valve may do the same with Project Borealis.
