I agree. I was worried at first this was UE4. Half-Life 2 is one of my all-time favorite games, so of course I would love to see this overhaul. For what HL2 was, this looks much better, for where games are these days, this looks rather dated.

I'm very surprised at the lack of UE4 support so far. Daylight comes out 4/29 but seems to take little advantage of it's graphical capabilities. The only other title announced is the next Arkham City game in October.

 

Arkham City is still using UE3 I believe though even further modified since it's designed for "next-gen" console hardware.

 

Looking good but i always get motion sickness with half life series...

Don't think that article writer knows what he is talking about tbh.

He mentions there are no games announced for UE4 which is incorrect as Daylight is out soon, he is also just presuming its UE4 as he thinks the visuals too advanced for UE3.

 

although with the same old engine..... and.....[these soundtracks + maps] .....

Good point. Maybe it's at least the UE3.5 engine that the Samaritian demo ran on?

 

Strange, i wrote that post on my phone while the battery was low then edited a part about the Samartian demo being UE3, thought it posted as well.

He also talks about the pre-rendered trailer like it's gameplay footage...........


Anyhoo, as for this it's very nice looking but as mentioned you can still see it's UE3, but it's hard to get excited about this unless he is planning to port the entire game to UE4.

He does mention looking into UE4, but i think this is just a tech test and not an actually gaming project.
