I have SkyrimVR but haven't started playing yet, do you know of a recommended mods list for the VR version? I'm sure there will be some VR specific mods in addition to the usual ones.
Nice one! The Valve Index, right? Enjoy dude! GTA V has a VR mod which is apparently pretty decent in it's latest iteration. Could be fun to just take a car (or plane) out for a drive around the city and f*ck about.
Yup, the Index it is! That GTA VR mod sounds cool, def look into it. When i was testing the Vive last time i only had like 1 hour to set it up and tried to play the normal GTA V just in 1st person view. And that gave me headaches and seasickness within 20mins, esp zooming about the city with a motorbike. Feeling was gone after 10mins, but it reminded me you just can't rush setting these things up. If you don't get it right like you need it to be, seasickness is the result.
^^^Oh you will have got HL Alyx free with your Index, you are in for a treat with that, what a game to start your vr with.....and remember to place some pillows below your chin to catch your jaw when it drops as you startup the game.
on a side note, i can t wait to see how CS go is gonna look like while using the Source 2 engine, it is gonna rockk, i feel it
Wow, so we have haptic vests and wristbands now. You can feel firing a gun or get hit by something. Amazing stuff!
^^I i know how it felt just from the haptic feedback just from the touch controllers in your hands, but imagine it from a torso haptic vest, it will feel like real life heart palpitations. lol
Looks like I finally get to play Half-Life: Alyx on my preferred platform. Half-Life: Alyx workshop and editor tools beta https://store.steampowered.com/newshub/app/546560/view/3758762298552654077
I know this is an old thread but I have finally started Half-Life: Alyx and wow, just wow. I have had the original vive since Dec 2016 but decided to upgrade to the Index pretty much for this game. After around 18 weeks of waiting it eventually arrived. This is (so far) the greatest most intense vr experience bar none. I am not even through all of chapter 2 yet but find myself having to take a break because, I have now discovered I'm a bit of an old tart. I crap myself. I'm a few weeks shy of 50 and I freak out at a poxy computer game. The opening scenes were fantastic. I have not been that wowed since the 1st day I stuck a headset on and played the vive tutorial. But now I'm under ground I get stressed out. Headcrabs, quite simply the toy enemy you used to throw around with the gravity gun or bat with a crowbar are now the thing of nightmares. Graphics, sound, gameplay. all top notch. I love it. I just hope I am brave enough to stick with it to the end.
Small update. I now find myself 10 hours in. I have been avoiding spoilers but every time Half-Life: Alyx and scary is searched, this name, "Jeff" appears. Always "Jeff". I avoid reading more but already Jeff is in my head. I freak out under the stress of battle. Constantly ejecting magazines when trying to fumble a reload. But I keep progressing somehow. I'm outside, that's good. A Vodka distillery and I make a jump across the gap. Enter the building. Loading screen and as the room comes back into focus a single word appears. "Jeff". I save. I quit. Time for a beer I feel.
Hard to answer without spoiling. The most spoiler-free answer I'd be comfortable reading if I had't played it: it's mostly a stand alone story of Alyx being in the Resistance, but the parts that do connect Alyx to the mainline games are massive.
