Any general advice? Shall I wait? Is it known when the newer cards will be out? Given the xx60 always is being released last... Needless to say I'm impatience and only play in 1080p which is more than enough.

So, I ask again; any general advice?

    Thank you in advance!

It's not the best time to be buying a gpu but if you are getting a decent deal, go for it. For 1080p it's a great card. Which make/model are you thinking?

What you expect to change from 960? Do you want to play with higher video settings?

Some games @ 1080 when set to full ingame eyecandy will consume 8 GB's of frame buffer.
For example. Res evil 7 and ROTTRaider.
Its a tough call for you.

I still have no idea which mark I'll be getting. The thing I care, at least 2 or fans and below 30% usage I'd like to be silent like my current GPU.

Also, I'd greatfully appreciate to give me ans advice which over 82% ASIC quality.

I know very well I won't be seeing much of a difference. I was really to buy new PC with 8600GPU and 1170GPU but got pwned by the Greek IRS. They took my 1800 euro that had ready for the new PC. After that excitement I don't want to stay with with empty hands. In while when I get the money again, I'll buy the PC.

I totally get what do you mean, but given for so long I was OK with only 2GB, now 6 will be more than enough.

    A 1060 is 3 times faster than a 960.

Also ASIC quality is not readable on pascal

Plus there is no telling what ASIC a card will have, there's no manufacturer with a higher ASIC than other. Also, I wouldn't worry about ASIC, I never found it to determine how my GPU will overclock.
You're saying that because you havea 1070. If you had a 1080ti, some games would be showing over 10gb VRAM usage.

It looks like (according to Newegg) prices on the 1060 are starting to fall. You might want to wait just a bit longer to see if the market will get even better as prices are dropping nicely. The GTX1070 cards and under are going down pretty fast thanks to the launch of the 1070Ti.

Dude, the 1070ti launched ages ago, are you telling me the 1070 prices are now dropping thanks to it's launch? That makes no sense.

Just looking at the previous pricing(I was watching it because I was looking to pick up a second 1070 for SLI) The 1070Ti has taken the price range of what used to be the 1070. The 1070 is moving out of the high $500 range and into the low 5 to high $400 range. The same thing is happening in the 1060 price range as they are starting to come down to below $350 when they were over $400.

I'd attribute that to the 1070Ti due to the fact that the 1070 is the Nvidia mining sweet spot and the 1070Ti is slightly better at mining. Obviously it's not scientific but it certainly looks like the release of the 1070Ti effected the price of the 1070 at a minimum.

I'm not getting involved in a "conversation" like this.

OP, the 1060 6gb is a great card. You won't regret buying it, it'll do great at 1080p. Enjoy.

im seeing prices of 1060's 6gb and 1070's around the same price margin on ebay in uk, if you can hold out for a preowned deal for a card that hasnt been used for mining, it would be great, although a great card i wouldn't pay retail for a 1060 now.

I went from a 770 2gb which is very similar to a 960 to this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487280 and the difference is amazing. At 1080p it easily handles anything you throw at it, I can finally use hairworks in The Witcher 3 along with high quality texture mod. And I got a great overclocker, at boost I can go up to 2100mhz and its still quiet. Pricing is still sketchy, just a few days ago this card was $40 cheaper.
