wow 4 6core is that 7 gpu what you ppd estimates? ive just had a lucky few day with sanford with the smp unit got all the high pointers back down to the low pointers now that how i was able to do 200k from a normal 115k

For now I've got 3 6core CPU's and 5 GPU's running at about 175k PPD. I'll have the 6th GPU up and folding in a few days. The 7th GPU is at least two weeks out, waiting on parts, and money to pay for the parts. Over the last few days I've been getting a lot of little, quick, low points SMP units. Finally started getting higher point units today, getting about 25k ppd more.

are all your 970/980 clocked the same and what points do the get with the gpu running do you know what they get without them running i try and restricted each gpu client to a core/thread but i cant make it say from wu to wu but when i do, do it my point do go up a fair bit sometimes

They are all clocked at 4.3. On system #1 and #2, CPU is set to use 10 cores/threads in the folding client and with ProLasso. The GPU's are setup to use the two un-used cores/threads with ProLasso. Each CPU gets about 34k PPD with at P6991 WU. On system #3, the CPU is set to use all cores/threads and no GPU folding. I get about 38k PPD on the third system. Using ProLasso to restrict which cores/threads the CPU's and GPU's use does seem to help my PPD.

If I get a P8001 WU, my PPD drops about 10k for each CPU.:cussing:

i haven't done many 8001 lucky are you running V7? all of my ring are using all core/threads available the 2 460's don't seem to pull the tpf down too much on the 970. have you found a way to use ProLasso to make them use one core each as i don't seam to be able to make that happen can only set the two of them to use two core can't seam to force them to one

I'm not running v7 yet. I'm more comfortable getting v6 working the way I want. I tried v7 when the bata first came out, but I couldn't get the advanced settings to work. Since SMP will only run even cores, I run them on 10 and give the other two cores to the video cards and that leaves a little CPU time for what every else I want to do. I haven't tried making the video cards run on on core.

i didn't start running on V7 till the latest release, it a little bit different to configure but im getting used to it i don't like the way it deals with the log's it that you cant easily look back in time like you could with V6. i liked the the idea that you had full control over eveything in V6 but does seam that there are more option to play with in V7

    Congratz loop29!

I just broke the top 100! Exciting!!

I'm running 1 smp on my 3820, and 2 separate uniproc on other machines... so far.
Strange, because I WAS getting *great* credit with the bigadv flag on my rig, but after "upgrading" to the new beta v7, it borked what I had going, so now it's not catching those WUs. (not that I should have been getting them anyway - but I was and was easily clearing 40K PPD on my own rig)

...although, I just checked and my last WU was PID 7888 and had only a few hundred credit points, but I just now picked up PID 7002 with a base of 600, estimated credit 4573 and estimated PPD at 32250 at a TPF of 2 minutes.

I still don't fully understand even though I've been researching as much as possible, but sometimes I'll KILL on a WU with a really high credit in the 12,000 range (or higher) and then sometimes I'll pick up a crappy PID that results in a measly 600 point credit - and everything in between.
I definitely understand that it's likely the differences in PIDs, but I just don't really get how they're weighed so differently if they're taking roughly the same amount of time.

I wish I hadn't "upgraded" to the new beta v7...I was getting the GREAT credit points before.

    Thanks,
    Congratulations to u2 Psychlone,

I´m running 4 clients. That´s 2 systems, my old rig with a C2D at 3 GHz which isn´t really pulling in any points. It´s getting a PPD of 1642, not sure if that is correct, sounds a bit off to me.
This system is folding on a GTX460 as well which pulls in around 10000 ppd, all on V7.
My new rig is an i7 3770k @ 4.2 GHz with a GTX670 (the one to the left) which folds so much better then the old one. The i7 rakes in about 16000 ppd and the 670 get´s around 19000 ppd.
I´m thinking about putting the GTX460 in my new rig and let it fold there, might be worth a try.
Thought the C2D would do a little better...
BTW, what drivers you guys are using on nvidia hardware? I´m still on 301.42 cause I wouldn´t like to break my folding.

    Cheers

    WOHOOO!!! 2M!

Looks like Pande Group lost out on your GTX folding, Sykozis. That entirely embodies the problem that I've been so rampant about - the challenge was for me to see if I could beat you to 2M back when I was at 1M a little less than 20 days ago.

I went from being Guru3D's 100th to 66th place in 12 days, and I'm pretty proud of that considering that I'm not really able to use a GPU client yet. Well, I *can* use one but it's so inefficient that it might give me 1800 points every couple days or so... My 5970, although still a monster of a card, just doesn't play well with FAH code.

Good luck though, Sykozis - I hope the PG gets their act together on the newer GPU clients they're working on.

Oh yeah, almost 1000 WUs passed through my system already!!!
