Not anymore. It sounds like a good idea but I won't watch. I peruse hardware information rapidly, google & ctrl+F are my best friends when looking for stuff.

Would guru3d be turning a profit from it or just putting in a lot of extra effort for nothing? ie does youtube share ad revenue?

oddly enough, i prefer to read reviews. video reviews always seem very short and not thorough, but even if so i'd still rather read. call me old fuddy duddy

I don't think it would work. Hilbert & the team who help him with the reviews have got hardware reviewing down to a very professional, consistent presentation. I think we should leave tech tv up to those who are professional at that. There would be nothing worse than putting up a semi-amatuer video review series and diluting the image Guru3d has built up for itself as a reliable source for high quality written hardware reviews.

Obviously I would try to keep high standards, but don't worry as I've said before I don't see Hilbert as someone who knows WAAAAY more about hardware then I do, also this is VERY VERY priliminary, I'm currently at my first bumbs into windows movie maker, I've achieved all that seems to be needed for basic modification in about 30 minutes of playing around with the software

I will post a test video shortly showing how it COULD be done obviously if I don't have to be the host I'd prefer not to be but the again as you'll see the in test video I'm quite photogenic :nerd:

EDIT: yep editing moving is probably the easiest thing I've ever learned XD

Tbh you will at least need to learn Final Cut. Windows movie maker doth not a professional video make.

Don't worry bro we're not even close to even considering really doing it, all we know so far is the vast majority of people who voted to that poll would like that.

Right now I can't even seem to succesfully upload the video on youtube ( have done it before it's giving me an unknown error)

EDIT: well youtube doesnt like WMV files, did not know that, put what I had already done onto AVI seems to upload this time

There you go, even though voice quality is horrible and barely audible I didnt work with the volume of each part (hence why music is so loud at start:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZumJFqtaEq8

But I guess that's pretty much the basics I expected to learn in 30 minutes, fairly easy
I'll most probably have to buy a video editing software

But for me it's time to go to bed

Seeing how without any help with only 30 minutes I got this result I'm pretty sure if I spend 3-4 hours for one week I can get something decent going

^^What format did you upload it in - it needs to be in.flv afaik.

Slightly ot and not trying to Hijack your thread pr0Fits, but howabout a Facebook page for Guru3D members?
Ok maybe all members would be impractical but what about one for core Forum Members at least?

I'll start a new thread if there is any interest...

Now back to topic - I also prefer to read reviews, that way I can look at comparison charts and see that figures etc.

I checked out Alexa yesterday. Seems Guru3D's popularity has almost doubled in the last few months. They have a daily traffic ranking of over 7,000.

That's what's pretty cool, nobody intends of REMOVING the written article it is not my pretension, but I think having a small video added a few hours after the article is released basically summing up the review. I don't want to jack HH's time specially if he's not interested in the project

No offence profits but I dont think your up to hilbert.

Back in the day when I started surfing the net and reading up about hardware it was hilberts reviews which could explain complicated stuffs without getting my bored as opposed to reviews by Toms or anandtech, sure now I prefer anands reviews a lil more but I think hilberts reviews are the most friendly/informative/for the relaxed performance user out there which is a pretty darn good skill.

Just pointing it out, However video reviews are great for cases, 3dgamerman does them but his are way too short and dont cover all aspects of the cases so maybe those would be a good idea.

I'd watch them if Jessica Alba was presenting the review - and she would have to be naked...

i think it would be a good idea, some people might prefer
videos others writen reviews. and as to what profit said about
keeping them both, everyone would be pleased.
but then again only if hilbert is up to it.

this hasn't been mentioned yet but i think the best reviews on youtube
were from tigerdirect, though since logan left them its gone downhill.

Actually if Jessica Alba was presenting them naked, I'd first in line for a job as co-presenter :p
