For his current PC, yes, but if he wants to keep it for a while and not upgrade it again any time soon, I still suggest getting a powerful PSU with enough leeway for future upgrades - like the one I posted.

Yes sir, definitely getting the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910W after reading some reviews and what not. That should serve me well for the next 3 - 4 years or so i hope :) Thank you for the information guys! respect :)

mate that not sli thats crossfire its the same thing but ATI and not nvidia and the 4890 1gbx2 is best and you can sli 4870x2 2gb with a 48901gb and the same with the 4870 and 4890 but dont get a 4870(non X2) 2gb and a 4870 1gb the 2gb card will disable 1gb of it memory so its the same as the othercard

i dont think this is the case with the X2 card as it 1gb per core

Please ask any questions regarding ATI or crossfire in this section, Tranceholic:

just wondering if my psu (anter 550w) can handle another 9600gt for SLi? it has the spare pci-express cable, says its sli ready etc, but more wondering power wise.

also, probably already covered, but how exact do the cards need to be?

    ty in advance

    Thanks Cybermancer,
not sure if it makes a difference, but my psu is quite old. maybe 4 years? anyway, i think the specs aren't quite the same as on the link.
link specifies 4 rails? with 20a
on side of my psu it lists 2, with 19a

Hm. Interesting. Maybe there were several revisions of the same PSU?

Putting all your components into this PSU calculator shows that you should still be fine: http://web.aanet.com.au/SnooP/psucalc.php

I miss my old 6600GT's in SLI. Now i've got 2 9600GT's in hand but only using 1 of em. When will that dammed nForce 9 mobo coming out? Threw away my old XFX 750a SLI mobo. Damm useless!!!
