Been playing mainly acoustic for a few years now. I enjoy it just don't take the time to practice much and practice-practice-practice is the key. Bar chords are just nasty.
Ah my second favorite hobby. Been playing for 25+ years now. Pretty much when I'm not on my computer I have a guitar
I've been playing for over 50 years. Mr. Hess sounds like me, 40 years ago...he's not very good. I should post up my exercise version of Santana's Europa. I was going to edit that...because it sounded pretty harsh...then I looked at what I could find and...Yeah, I moved past sweep arpeggios. It's just muscle memory... I enjoy a good thrashing like AIC or Panterra. But lead playing I prefer slower blues and Santana stylings. Gotta edit again. Love Mark Knopfler. This guy and me go way back... https://www.melbay.com/
I used to play my real low action Strat a lot as a student and later a Washburn acoustic too which needed a serious mod to bring the action down, it was so tough to play. But I get minor arthritis in a couple of fingers and thumb now, probably from over doing it (and not fixing the acoustics action in good time) so dont play much now sadly. When I do, lots of dead skin on the end of my fingers for a week cos I've become a wuss. Guitar Hero kept my spirits up though lol. Hmm, must dig it out again! Its great Guru has lots of axe grinders My modded strat, kitty came free with the humbuckers
Me, playing a shortened and simplified version of one of my songs just a week ago. I felt like I had to entertain people stuck in their homes (including myself). I am not knowledgeable with music theory btw and I just play by the ear. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10158365008453987
Before I had my kid I use to play a bit, mostly rock and metal. I went though a lot of guitars and picked up the black Mexican Tele off Ebay for $180. I always thought they were a country guitar, and I was wrong. Love the way they feel and look. The gold one is the Chris Shiflett MIM model. I'm not a Foo fan but do love that guitar too. It has a Tele body with a Strat neck and hardware with HB's. The strat has always been hard for me but those great neck tones are so sweet. Can't wait for the kid to need less attention so the guitars get more.
Know of anyone who can anyone play like this? When he left Fleetwood Mac, the band needed 2 guitarists to replace him.
I was going to post John McLaughlin, you beat me to it. Also the thing about Lindsey is that he is doing it while singing, which makes it more difficult.
Me too, thats me in the Avatar. I loved that bass, Hamer "Blitz" same bass Savage was using at the time with Def Lepp also had a aluminum neck Kramer V and a 300 watt Ampeg SVT head & 8-10inch & 2-15inch bottoms. God I miss playing onstage..... every single day nothing like it, better than drugs. But in the states there is like no place to play anymore unless your a big act, and then still the venues aren't as big as they use to be. Most of the big places shut down. And no clubs that cater to rock anymore for most part a few dinosaurs here and there holding on but it's futal in the states with rock right now. We played Hard Rock, Glam Metal mostly. Usuals Helix, Whitesnake, Def, ect. ect.
