I just stopped playing the stress test. The game seems ready and I want to save the fun for launch
I don't agree, the game has a major graphical issues with things just disappearing, had a great time earlier with a big boss and the thing just vanished.
This is the issue.
I read that in game too from people. Stuff disappearing, but I have yet to experience something weird or buggy. Maybe I am just getting lucky? lol
They had some graphical corruption in the last 2 Stress Tests. I don't know if that was a result of the intentional stress they were putting on the servers or if it was a separate issue. It seemed to be mostly on NVIDIA GPUs (going off my Guildies and acquaintances) so it might have been driver related.
From Guild Wars 2 Facebook:
I guess they are doing this 1 hour to test out some important stuff?
They did something to this 1 hr beta. I am running around 60fps with everything maxed out and that includes supersampling.
Driver 305.58 for nvidia will be out in next few days with gw2 fixes, I wonder if they will do one last stress test to try them out.
I tried Asura, Sylvari, Norn and Human starting zones. Human starting zone feels alive compared to others and I love their city, Divinity's Reach(I am really into medieval castles and stuff), it's amazing. Norn would be second on my list. The other two are alright. Can anyone comment on Char starting zone?
going to be human just like every other mmo
I've done a bit of the Charr homeland. The environment isn't very original. Kind of steampunk-y. The story I liked and most of the personal storyline objectives were quite fun.
But for your information, I also quite liked the Asura story and personal quests and found Rata Sum to have a nice architecture
I also tried Sylvari, but the storyline was too spiritual for my taste, so I quit that 1 after not too long. Although the architecture isn't too common, it didn't really appeal to me either.
I played GW1 and the diffrent races didn't have an effect on the characters class. Is it the same in GW2 or do the races have an effect on the class?
You didn't have multiple playable races in GW1.
But if you're asking if all races can become every class, then: yes. ANet deliberately did this to give every player the choice to play their favorite race without having to worry if they can still play their favorite profession with that race.
Finally pre-ordered - yay!. I didn't bother with a 3 day early access version as the standard version was cheaper (and i ain't paying for 3 days!). Shame the place i purhcased from doesn't do the free 1 day headstart though .
Roll on the release date.
Races have a big impact IMO. There are racial abilities. One of the Sylvani abilities in particular seemed really OP. Their AoE root DOT seemed like one of the best abilities in the game. Especially in a game where there are no diminishing returns.
I think it will get nerfed before or soon after the launch, but who knows?
@Major Melchett - get yourself on Desolation server. are most of the EU gurus gonna play on Desolation? would be nice to kinda agree on a server. Me and my guild will most likely be on Desolation, so if you guys haven't made your minds up, join us. I will be playing with guildies or solo most of the time, but I won't mind helping out a fellow guru
I thought racial abilities were pve only? I believe I read that at guildwars2guru.
whats the servers for eastern united states?
afaik, you can't use racial skill in sPvP.
There are no specific servers for the East Coast. All of ANet's North American servers for Guild Wars 2 are located in Texas.
