You guys might want to read this:

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4537427&postcount=164

    It's from this thread.
Apparently the flickering issue on unofficial OC started from 12.6.

    What a bunch of asshats.
    Stay classy, AMD.

OpenCL is broken from 13.1 and up if I remember correctly.
    Use older sets.

And no, you won't get any more performance using the latest driver with a 5650.

For Windows 8, I think you can try anything after 12.1 if I remember correctly.
kev or dellon might know more about what's good for Windows 8 than I do.

My opinion is still that there's simply no notable performance difference between one version and another.
Just use what doesn't break the functionality of your 5650 or the games that you mostly play.

Be careful if you want to try 12.11 betas, though.
They always BSOD'd my laptop on startup before I managed to type the password to log in.
13.2 betas are fine, but AMD broke OpenCL with those.

Although it doesn't help much, since the drivers are for legacy...

FIFA 13 runs great locked @ 60fps in 1080p on 4870x2 on my 11.12 Hybrid's forcing a profile of optimise 1x1 and VSYNC in crossfire, also selecting disable DWM in fifa prefs.

    This is on Windows 7 x64 (I don't use Windows 8 anymore)

again thanks for the reply :) but
opencl is working great if i dnt replace these 4 files:
    atiumd6a.dll,atiumd6a.cap,atiumdva.dll,atiumdva.cap .
    even with 13.2 betas

Uh, are you sure you're not mixing up OpenCL with DXVA?
Those files are the ones used for DXVA support.
atiumdva.dll is the 32-bit .dll, while atiumd6a.dll is its 64-bit version.

Also, I'm pretty sure OpenCL installation is broken in 13.2 betas because it's always the vanilla set, as in without file replacements whatsoever, before I tested its OpenCL with GPU-Z.
Make sure you're installing a driver set cleanly and not on top of existing driver.

earlier i ws installing drivers in safe mode .. as i get BSOD in normal mode

According to what Fifa 13 says it fixes stutter on AMD, as the game and Display Window Manager both compete for GPU resources.

Turning off DWM (which fifa 13 prefs does for you) makes things smoother.

By the way, the OpenCL on the 13.3 that asder modded works fine; GPU-Z didn't show any error detecting it.
Of course EVR support and hardware-accelerated video playback on Flash are still broken, but at least OpenCL is being installed properly.

Thanks for your effort in discovering a fix for the video playback issue. AMD is very slack for making drivers like this. However, after the fix, the edge enhancement and de-noise settings are greyed out and I used those setting on previous drivers. What could be the cause and is there a fix?

Aside from just simply using 11.11c or 11.12? Nope.
You can try including 11.12's CCC on newer sets, but personally it's a hassle, and I don't know enough on how to properly do that.
    Try asking kev about it.

Besides, since I use MPC-HC, I can just use its included shaders for denoise or edge enhancement if I want to.
I can also use SweetFX shader codes to provide vibrancy as well.

Warning jumps and CCC crashs with your files, but it works fine with files extracted from Catalyst 11.12.

To graft in a new CCC from say from 11.12, you take the CCC folder and replace it, and the atidemgx.dll into the driver folder and replace it, and maybe the atiadlxx and atiadlxy files also in the driver folder depending on whether you are crossing the non user profile/user profile enabled CCC boundary, in which case you willl also need atiapfxx.blb from the newer sets for user profile lists to show up.

That's about it....as long as the new CCC is supported by your card.

If it isn't, then you have to edit the ASIC include tables of the CCC files themselves in order to force install the new CCC files using ORCA .msi editor including the languages.
