Everyone is entitled to their own opinion no need to be a jerk about it. Plus I reported you for being disrespecting other peoples opinions. 2nd of all I never seen anyone bash the 960. They were only telling facts about it from my view point. Finally users were only trying to help the OP. You on the other hand are not this post helps no one.

The 970 is better value for money than 960. For $100 extra you get a lot more power. $100 premium for the 980 over the 970 is not worth it, 980 is only marginally faster.

Actually 980 performs better than 970 by good margin. Even 1500mhz on 970 is little slower than stock 980. It also have 4GB Vram. Kinda agree though, 980 have the worst value being even 150$ more at some places.

That is not true at all a 970 at 1500 will wipe the floor with a stock clocked 980. And I emphasize stock clocks.

    The 970 at 1500 beats a stock 980 http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_970_gaming_review,26.html

Is definitely not slower than the stock 980, like you said. Another example of a 1500mhz 970 beating a stock 980. I honestly don't know where you get your statements from. http://www.techpowerup.com/mobile/reviews/Colorful/iGame_GTX_970/30.html

That 970 oc beat the stock 980 by nearly 300 points. Thanks for proving my point though.

You guys just made my point. The GTX 960 is a much better card than anyone gives it credit for, at ITS PRICE POINT. Arguably the best.

I disrespected no one. Perhaps you should read the GTX 960 owners thread and see who is disrespecting who.

I wonder why GTX 960 owners are not in the GTX 970 or 980 owners thread bad mouthing them all for spending hundreds of more dollars on video cards for virtually the same experience?

I never mentioned the 960 as a good alternative. I think it's overpriced for what it is and 4gb on a card like that with its gpu power and 128 bit bus is useless imo. Will run the same as the 2gb variant.

I'm not. I'm very happy with it. Was a great deal to get a 4gb GTX 960 for $199.

I just think the card and its owners are taking a lot of abuse from people who own more powerful cards, undeservedly so.

The Gigabyte one has great cooling too. Am looking forward to seeing how well I can do overclocking it.

Yes you did disrespect other people's opinions when you said this
Im not saying there are not satisfied 960 owners out there there are including you. The facts are that the 960 isn't a very good card because of the 128bit bus it has and other reasons. At the end of the day the 960 is a 1080p gaming card and that is it.

Perhaps my inner Donald Trump was coming out.

Or my frustration with peoples attitudes about the GTX 960. I've done enough research to know that the way enthusiasts talk about the GTX 960, and its owners is unwarranted.

What is wrong with a card dedicated to 1080p?

A card designed to run current games at 1080, will struggle with newer games much sooner than a card designed to run those same games at higher settings, at 1440....

Best case, you'll get 2 years out of a GTX960 before it starts showing it's age, whereas a GTX970 will give you an additional year and a GTX980 will give you an additional 2 years. Mid-range cards don't have the same usable life-span as high-end cards do. People complain about the cost of high-end cards, but if you're concerned about future game releases, they actually provide the better long-term value by allowing more time between upgrades.

You're clearly reading the entire situation wrong. People who "speak out" against the 960 were simply unphased by the level of performance it offers you compared to cards that aren't that much more expensive. I get that having something shiny and new is nice, but it isn't that much more to get a 280X (which is far faster), or a used 770/780. Nobody is saying you have to go the next $120 up to get a 970. Even the 760 is better value because it can be had for like $150 these days and is barely slower.

I'm sorry if the facts hurt, but it is what it is. I'm glad you enjoy your card, but the only person fighting you is yourself. There's no "hate train" or a bunch of oppressors trying to keep a secret away from the masses.

960 2gb = no ultra textures in games
960 4gb = ultra textures and same fps performance in games

Of course buy a 970/980 will be better. But if you can find a 960 4gb for a good price, its always a good deal, 970 can't play lock 60fps any games anyways, its around 40-60fps.
