Hey guys, so im building a new pc. My spec : i5 3570k ; 2x4Gb corsair ram ; Corsair cx 600w PSU ; Asrock z77 pro3 MOBA ; Cooler Master CM 692 case .... So, now comes to this - which video card should i get ? The Zotac Geforce GTX660ti or Gigabyte HD7950 ? I'll be playing on a 1080p and i will not double my monitors. At first i wont OC the gpu, but when new games will come out, i will.
So which one do you think I would need to get ?

    Zotac GTX 660ti - 350$

IMHO, the 7950 is faster with newer drivers and still has room to grow with driver updates.

Plus the 3GB frame buffer rocks, even at 1080P, especially for newer games coming with high res textures etc.

and you could really OC the hell outta most 7950's for an even bigger difference over the 660ti - in many cases you can end up faster than a 680.

but, if you can't live without physx and cuda you must go nvidia :(

tough choice but I would go 7950/7970 for sure :)

7950 ofc. Get the Gigabyte one.

The 660Ti doesn't compare with an OCed 7950.

I don't know where you're getting this from? The Gigabyte one is one of the best there is (along with VaporX and a few others).

This is the GPGPU section, would be better off posting this in "General Hardware"
The Gigabyte cooler is better than most, as long as the card doesn't come DOA, I've had bad luck with Gigabyte there but that's just my experience :)

DOA = Dead On Arrival. Happens from time to time when buying hardware.

Good choice. Post in the Gigabyte 1000mhz topic if you have any issues.

define garbage? , maybe your card is cpu bottlenecked and not running to its full potential?

GTX660Ti isn't garbage. Far from it. NVidia is just too strict in regards to overclocking.

Once overclocked, the HD7950 will be a bit faster....

I Plan to oc in the future, cuz in stock, they will run games on ultra (bf3 far cry 3 .......) with no lag at all. Speaking of oc, how does it work? How to not over do it, that it wouldnt blow up and stay not hot like hell.:D and if you oc the gpu, will the cpu will get hot? Do i need a good cooler for cpu or it will be fine with the stock one?

the gigabyte wf3 cooler is great, quiet and keeps things cool.check the amd section, especialy the thread mentioned by deathchild, you'll find everything you'll ever need in there. and yes oced hd 7950 easily beats oced gtx 660ti. good choice.

When you use Radeon GPU and turn Physx on, then the CPU uses ? And its a big frame drop ? Will i get lag if i play Borderlands 2 with Ati HD7950 and turn physx and everything else on ultra ? O mirors edge with physx and everything on max ?
