Some won't recommend this, but I'd say if you want power on the ultra cheap, find a used R9 280X, try to find one that wasn't used for mining. You'll be paying $140 more or less for a card that outperforms the 960, 280, 285, 380, and matches or beats the 380X (which is bizarre for whatever god damned reason) in most things. That's what I did when my GTX 560 Ti died, and it was awesome, especially given how cheap it was. But I eventually replaced that with a GTX 970. Same deal with a 7970 Ghz Edition. The R9 280X is a rebadge of that, and sometimes you can find those even cheaper than a 280X!
