I have a pc with a i7 930@stock, 6GB RAM and a GTX570 and I'm wondering if my PSU could handle a GTX295 as physx card aswell. My PSU is a Corsair TX750.

I don't want to throw it away and I can't really get anything for it.

to use a 295 as physics you need to disable sli afaik. then you just have an underclocked 275 there. might work power wise might not. try for yourself

Yeah your better off selling the 295 as one of the PCB's will be not in use so its a waste, there selling on ebay atm for around £100.

I'm not sure that I'll be able to sell it for £100, most seem to sell for only $70-80 here. Not worth it to sell it for that amount imo.

I know that sli wouldn't work, I just want to use it for something as I can't really get much money for it. It still has a little less than 7 years left on the warranty. I don't want to risk my whole system if the PSU isn't enough.

Yes TX750 would be enough to run it.
Basically the max TDP of the 570 (220w) + 295 (290w) could be around 510w (more if cards are oc versions).
But since you'd never use the max TDP of the 295 you'd use a little less then that.
(The GTX 275 max TDP is around 220w same as a 570 power consumption wise)

I'm not sure what the power consumption of 295 when one core is disabled,
but as a guess max TDP wouldn't be lower then 220w (could be wrong).
So a rough over estimated guess would be 570 + 295 (using one core) max TDP 460w

These are just theoretical paper guesses of coarse and aren't allowing for any other hardware apart from from the Cards themselves.

    Edit:
Wish you were here in Aus as I'd love to buy a GTX 295 for $70 ~ $80.
I bought a good condition 2nd hand Evga Co-Op FTW for $150 AU for a friend and to be trueful I regret handing it over to him. lol
Bang for buck at current $$'s (providing you got the psu to run it) the 295 is still a good performer no matter what others may say or think.

    pushing the limits

bad wiring or wearout of psu could make it stall

i used to have oc'd Q9300 with gtx295 and various psu's (tho corsais never stalled)
