Why do you need this driver precisely?

I also have some reasons to try older drivers. But I donĀ“t think it's possible to mod drivers earlier than the first official Fermi driver(197.13, or something like that)? Or am I wrong?

Just adding the device strings to the INF file won't magically make the driver support the GTX480.

The oldest driver the GTX480 can use is 197.41: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_197.41_whql.html

Anything older than this just flat out won't support it.

188.25 Quad was a good driver as was 187.66(very smooth for back then)more recent driver i remember was good was 197.45.

Just trade your gtx480 for my 8800gt and you can enjoy your superb AA!
    How about that?

It's not going to work with the 480. Just install the latest, force 32QXCSAA and enjoy the perfect antialiasing.

8800gt is very different from 480. The 480 did not even exist at the time of the 182 driver. So to expect it to behave the same as the 8800 with the older driver is a bit too optimistic.
