I was one of those who got the 780 kinda at launch at 509$ but when the ti came out it was like 699$ right? I might be mistaken but it was more expensive.

I definitely waited this time around even though the 980 looked better I knew I had a card that could still bring it with the current games especially at 1080p for awhile til witcher 3 anyways.

If the ti will still be 28nm does that mean only titans and the 990 will get the smaller 20nm's?. I guess time will tell but I probably will get the 980ti If it isn't terribly over priced.

As far as I've been able to read it out of that article, they will still be 28nm.

More like unsubstantiated made up rumors. As true as the r9 390x being announced by amd today were.

As expected since current lineup is made of 3 GPUs.
Why to manufacture older tech which needs for very similar performance much more transistors anyway? Now nV makes big money, and will slide 970 down to mainst*ream soon.

I'm hoping it's true though, Need a Christmas present to myself : p. A 980ti would be great for that.

Yah, I noticed that as well.

TBH, I'm just going to avoid the bullsh!t rumors that always emanate from the same sites in the run up to card launches. Sure, they are right sometimes but the sun shines on a dog's ass every now and then as well ;)

They just want traffic so they make more money. If the 980 release taught me anything it's that we should simply wait for the actual release instead of speculating about it.

I hope it is this year and I hope it is 50% faster :D

Or buy the one with the 200 price drop and OC it.

By all means, I'm almost hoping that they would release it. Anything that would make GTX 970 prices go down is good. (Second would be really tempting.)

Unless AMD puts out a card that's faster than a GTX 980, or perhaps performs on par with the GTX 980 at a better price point, I sincerely doubt we'll see a GTX 980 Ti. Remember, Nvidia only pushed out the 780 Ti, a Kepler refresh, as a response to the R9 290X. I'm willing to bet that they're saving the "GTX 980 Ti" for the 2015 Maxwell refreshes.

Considering the power efficiency of Maxwell, it's more likely that we'll see a dual GPU PCB. Considering past releases of dual GPU PCBs, it's probably going to match 2x GTX 970's and be priced between $700-$800.

I myself think it wil match with gtx 980 in sli same as 2 680 in sli vs gtx690.

When and if they do release a dual gpu, I believe it will surpass 980 sli and have the price tag to well surpass it.

I agree it will be better than gtx980 SLI they have an awesome chip lower voltage lower heat so they can really work at get dual GPU goodness

What they should do is make a whole new chip entirely instead of putting 2 980s like they did with the 690 with 2 680s and make like it having 2 980 ti's or something.

That would not be cost effective. They may however only disable one shader cluster on the GM204 and end up with two GPU's between 980 and 970. Now would they put it on two 256bit buses or make it say a 320bit with 5GB of ram per GPU?

Don't mind me just typing what pops in my head.

Well isn't this suppose to be a GM210 chip?

Otherwise Im not really interested in a single dual gpu with 2 GM204 chips on it :nerd:
