You have 4gb usable per card in sli be it 1 2 3 or 4 cards. Think alternate frame rendering.
Got mine today. Can I join the club ?
Got a question, did Heaven Valley Bench kinda 'weak' or 'old' to bench this card ? Cause the score i got with it is about the same (a little better) as my old 780.
Oh well its only valley it will out game the 780
That is tight 4 cards
looks good Kaaps
Count me in boysss
any MSI GTX 980 Gaming users ? whats your top OC on boost ?
A bit CPU bottlenecked
Yeah but can it play Quake 3?
setup GTX 980 after 670 SLI on my pc
but lose Physx and CSAA options in AC Black Flag game , why ?
i'm in. bought 1 GTX 980. gonna get another one in a week or so and then i'll slap on the waterblocks i bought for em. should be a massive upgrade coming from GTX 770 Lightning SLI (under water too) to GTX 980 SLI on h2o
my GTX980 set 1480 boost clock and bench Unigine Heaven , Firestrike , 3DMark11 all time stable , bu when I playing Shadow of Mordor , give error and gpu reset to default clok , why ?
I don't think it is the card, it is probably the game as depending on what settings you are using it can use a lot more than 4gb.
Just because it passes a few benchmarks doesn't automatically mean it's stable
Got my 2nd card in
Got the blocks and backplates from EKWB.
The blocks only suppport the reference model.
Replacing my 2 x MSI GTX 770 Lightnings SLI also on H20
Should get nearly double performance
One question guys, My 770's both have different boost.
one was 1267Mhz and the other was 1241Mhz... any idea why?
I tested the 980's. Max temp (Using furmark) was 78c on both.
Boost was 1252Mhz on both cards.
Should put them in soon.
21st of Nov i am gonna get the Asus ROG Swift monitor as well
hehe sexy pic
Enjoy the hardware, will you post benchmarks of them under water?
I hope you get a properly working swift. That's rather uncommon these days.
yeah i'll bench em when i get them under water and post the results.
I know with my 2 770 lightnings in SLI i would get similar scores of a single GTX 980/3930k similar clocks to mine. i got 12k in firestrike.... i wonder with 980 SLI if i'll get 16k-17k
Why? what problems are there with the swift?
Guys would GTX 980 SLI be a big upgrade over 780ti? Or sideways? Advice please.
This may sound stupid, but shouldn't you get more than 16k with 980 SLI? I can't recall what the other's have got, but I guess it was closer to 20k, but I could be wrong!
Check out the Swift-Thread on this board here. It has several issues from backlight bleeding mostly to improved troubles and uneven lighting... I would want one too but I refrain from it, not much use in spending that load of money if it doesn't work properly, would only frustrate me
If you're talking about one 780Ti vs 2 980s, sure it will be an upgrade.
i just assumed i get more than 16k lol
i never really looked at ppls scores.
i hope there wont be any problems with the monitor if i do decide to buy it
When i first ran my sli 980s with a 4820k (4 cores) I got 16.5k in firestrike, so I looked into it and realized that peeps with ~20k scores are either running > 4 cores or are using HyperThreading. If you look at the scores closely, a typical sli 980 will score around 29k in GPU score. Its the cpu score, in this case, physics score that brings the overall score down. I turned HT in my 4820k and now I get close to 20k.
If you are worried about your firestrike score being too low, make sure you gpu score matches with others. CPU speed and core count matters in the overall score.
Also, gtx 970/980 sli doesn't boost to advertised speed becasue of voltage variation/bug where either of the card stays around 1.15v and the other goes to 1.21 (normal voltage) in load. So both cards cant boost up and results in crash.
Geforce forum and HARDoc forums are buzzing with this issue and I am suffering from it too. Hopefully Nvidia fixes it soon.
