Ordered my GTX970 this morning, should arrive sometime tomorrow. Gonna be a loooong wait but work will keep me busy. Wonder if I see any performance increases over my current 9600GT 512 :p

    Just a little ;)

But how is your RAM DDR2 with that CPU? DDR3 I guess?
Also you should upgrade to at least 12GB or some games will be a lagfest at ultra settings.

Lol it isn't DDR2, I simply forgot to change that when I upgraded and updated my specs on the forums ( doh! ), its actually 8 gigs of DDR3 and yea I plan on throwing 2 more sticks in at some point, just wanted enough to keep me going for the time being as I'm upgrading my rig in increments rather then at one go.

Yeah that's what I do too, if you look in my Amazon history about every weekend for the past 4 weeks there has been at LEAST 1 part ordered. Slowly but surely

Just installed Geforce Experience 2.2.2 update and lost the ability to set the LED Visualizer settings I've been using before that (Variable brightness - GPU Fan speed).
    I'll try reinstalling ;)

EDIT: reinstalling 2.2.2 didn't help, so 'm back on 2.1.5.

How much of an OC is typical? With the boost I get ~1552MHz or so in games with the core set to +210 and the memory to +550. Edit: I meant 200.

Very good, above average. I would think most (incl me) hover around the 1500mhz point. 7700-7800 mem is about typical though.

Just ordered my evga 970 FTW+

so excited to finally retire my 460 SC!!

Ordered it from NewEgg since I saw this morning in their newsletter that it was $5 off & free shipping. Combine that with a promo code for $25 off when using visa checkout + a gift card I have, it only cost me $310 (US)... Not a bad price to upgrade from this old card :-D

You should have more than 4GB of ram but if you're running a 64bit OS, VRAM utilization isn't an issue.

I really don't understand the hatred Sykozis. (I'm Nikos from HardwarePal btw.)

I have never published a single article about any GTX970 memory issues. I did add to the excel sheet some of my observations (due to using -mostly- the GTX970 for VRAM Usage charts) and yes my performance drops after 3600mb in all games.

We stopped doing news a long time ago, I even went out and deleted 600 articles because I didn't like getting visitors through shady article titles.

Anyway I went out and emailed Scott from TechReport, because I don't think I have the knowledge to go pinpoint the reasons for this occuring.

    Here is the full dialog

Well isn't that a hell of a coincidence there. The first time I mention hardwarepal, someone admitting to be from hardwarepal joins the forum only minutes later and posts a response in a different thread. Thanks for proving the research to be accurate.

    Hello Nik,

If you have an issue to address with one of the Guru3D forum community members, please do so in a PM to him.

    Thank you.

Sorry, I didn't come here to stir up trouble.

If I'm not mistaken this is the only account I have on Guru3D. Hilbert can easily found out if the previous post was a shill from my IP.

I just wanted to get that off my chest. Anyway I'll leave it at that.

I needed a good laugh today.

VPNs are great for hiding your real IP address. My work uses 4 VPNs. If I connect to all 4, Hilbert will see 4 different IP's for me.

Hey guys, I noticed that there's a new bios for my cards but I am really lost as to which is the correct one and would appreciate some help.
The current bios on my cards is 84.04.28.00.4D and I have no idea what is going on on gigabytes website.

I'm not sure Gigabyte knows what's going on either.
