yes, I have same card, I just didn't install anything off disk .

I always run AB so I go that way .
The OC gaming clock is like 1367 ?

Interestingly, the MSI gaming app also sets the Windows Power Plan to Balanced when you select Silent if you have the Performance plan set, as I do.

Does anyone else keep having to reboot every time they go from Gaming to OC mode and back again tho?

970 save that 200 and add another 120ish a couple of years from now and get a future x70 type card with significantly more than ~20% performance gain

Just ditch that pos and use afterburner to apply same clocks or oc higher.

I don't really use it, was just curious why it keep asking me to "reboot to enable this feature" whenever I go from Gaming to OC.

Currently my EVGA and MSI won't work in SLI, while they should. It might be that either card is malfunctioning, or that somehow it's a driver or BIOS issue, because all the other causes are ruled out.

I read about a similar situation on another forum. The guy there had to swap cards with a friend to get two similar brand or it simply wouldn't work.

"Solution" = Get another EVGA or MSI.

Right, unless its a reference design it is best to get two same models/makes ,as there to much differences with voltages and bios for it to work great IMO .

Great, thanks very much for that info. Now at least I know that the MSI isn't broken.

Damn, I really have bad luck on my side. Still waiting for a response of my shop whether they accept it if I return my EVGA...

OK, I'm sending back the EVGA and swapping it for another MSI at a 10% restocking fee...

So after more than a month of waiting and problems and money wasting I finally hope to get SLI working, without overheating or BIOS issues. This'll teach me to never try to SLI different brands or buy anything at release again. :bang:

At least I end up with the better cards, but it cost me over a hundred euro more than if I would've received 2 EVGA cards at release. :puke2:

Bad retailer that asked for the 10% fee, a shame really.
Maybe time to find a better one that has a 100% refund on return policy? :)

Just been reading back on some posts and my MSI 970 idles at 34C with 0 fan speed and it's quite warm in here. How come some idle at 50C?

Granted my case has decent air flow (2 x 120mm front intake, 3 x 120mm exhaust) but still, 16C difference?

EDIT: Granted I'm not overclocking, but should that make that much difference at idle:

Why can't I show an image? It keep putting *** in place of certain letters

depends on hz of monitor. temps go up with desktop hz. 60 I idle lower than at 144hz.

35 degrees at 120hz. 50 degrees on one card at 144hz.

    Oh right, wasn't aware.

I'm on 60hz yeah, I use a 40" TV as a monitor, not the best for gaming but I watch more movies than anything else.

Well, did before I built a gaming PC lol

Only a 14 day return period. :( And the EVGA product is fine, really, no defects. It just sucks that they couldn't give me 2 EVGAs in the first place. Right before I went on vacation for a week I received the Inno3D card, which overheated and had to be sent back. Then after my vacation I ordered the new MSI from another retailer. And then found out that it didn't work either and then the 14 days were already used... So I'm almost one and a half month long receiving either bad products or incompatible products, or waiting for my orders and then wasting money sending everything back.

Thanks man, I hope to receive my 2nd MSI tomorrow or the day after :)
Things to learn here are not to mix brands, and don't buy cheap brands if custom coolers are involved. Furthermore next time, I think I'll wait a bit longer until products have been thoroughly reviewed and tested and are in stock, before buying.

Just put +140 on the core (stock voltage) and +500 on the mem:

Edit: Temp did hit 70C but I do have fan on auto, got up to 58% max.

Also has afterburner OSD on to monitor GPU core and temp, does that make any difference?
