At 1080p no, not worth it for that kind of money. You have to ask yourself what games and settings is your card letting you down in that you feel the need for an upgrade. And then is it worth $460-580.

Funny, this is a 970 thread, nobody is interested in your 690 score.

Nah no heat problems, only the 2gb vram necks me a bit if a few games, thats my biggest concern.

970 SLI would be a massive upgrade. Night and day.

    Allright, puppies installed :)

They are indeed silent and when I ran Heaven they hardly made a peep.

Unfortunately one or both coliwhine :'( I'll have to check tomorrow to see which one it is. Bad luck :puke2:

Benching now @ stock for now and will be back with results soon.

    Looking good, congrats!

Coil whining only happens when you run benchmarks on those cards that are made for the low-end segment right? Like a 2D benchmark that runs at 2000fps or something. I have that with my current cards when they run the Windows system assesment tests or something for which these cards are way overpowered.

My old 780Ti also coilwhined when running at high FPS like 300+ but never ingame. Here I heard coilwhine when running Heaven but oddly not in 3DMark

Thanks :) I also updated my post with two benchies :p

    Time to run some games!

EDIT - I must say that the cards are inaudible when running benchmarks!!! I'm so impressed! Ok, I've not OCed at all but still. They run out of the box at nearly 1300MHz!

Top card maxed out at 67 degrees and bottom at 64. I'm thrilled! How is this even possible? My old 780Ti ran at 80-83 degrees and sounded really loud in comparison to these two babies <3

    144fps silent gaming, here I come :D

75 on top, 68 on bottom.. no incoming air, only exhaust. That is with a stock 1178 clock on the core and 7000 on the memory.

I will be trying with some intake tonight to compare the difference.

I prefer silence in my case, so only have the fans on the cards on, and 2 120mm exhausting on my H100. Its nice and quiet :)

What's the max fan speed in RPM for those cards under max load?

Ouuuu.... That's sick - and you have Define R4 too. I guess I I'll eventually buy another one the prices go down. Regarding coil whine: It can be your PSU too.

Nice! My stock exhaust type 670's were 82-85 maxed out

Looking good for me then with the amount of air flow and fans I have in this baby! That is when my new mobo comes so I can do SLI again...

    Thats awesome temps!
How much is your temp in case? cpu? etc just to get idea because mine is like 50C idle at everything so have to get some fans in my case to not be so hot in idle :D

I installed new NOCTUA NF-A14 FLX case fans to my fractal R4 instead of old 120mm noctuas. 1x intake front (upper position) , 1x intake on the side, 1x outtake rear. All run silent in 7V and this is result:

Can't remember off the top of my head, but will post some bench scores tonight and will include this information.

Also, anyone considering re-pasting their coolers? I have a half a mind to do mine just out of curiousity to see if I could shave off a couple degrees.
