I went from a HD 6950 to GTX 970 Mini ITX. It screams on my new rig. No complaints what so ever.

Hello everyone! Hows your 970s? I'm looking forward to Battlefield 5 and hoping the 970 can still deliver a good 1080p/60fps experience. Got no plans on upgrading to 1070.

Don't know about Jayz's sample...prob they did (like always). But nevertheless, my rtl one oc'ed to ~1500/8000 w/o volt change.

PS. I decided to buy G1 after overclockers.ru review. These guys, in most cases, reviewed a retail cards from retail vendors in Moscow. They also pay special attention to the quality of the power elements and PCB tech design.

I totally doubt a 1070 will be a worthy upgrade from 970 @ 1080p, more likely from someone who wants 1440p/4k to game at better settings.

I concur. I'll wait for Volta to make my upgrade. For Kepler users though Pascal should be really great.

Not gonna upgrade either with the next one. No new upcoming games which are to my interests and the performance is just perfect for the games I do play.

Never thought I'd say this but with so many people looking to sell their 970 cards, I'm thinking of trying out SLI.
Cheapest one I saw so far was $240 for a g1. Should I do it?

970 SLI really does suck. Also 240 USD for a card is way too much, wait a few days and price will come down.

You can run Witcher 3 970SLI at 30FPS like in this video I did last year @4k so not too bad

Nah, 240 was cheap, it was sold instantly. Most used 970's are going for 270-300 over here.
I wouldn't be playing 4k anyway, still on 1080p. Might move up to 1440p later this year if I can save up for one of those stupidly expensive gsync monitors.

    Just trying to be helpful,

Don't assume that with a G sync monitor you will enjoy gaming below 60 fps.. sure from 50s and up you won't get really annoyed but anything below will ruin your experience.

G sync really helps about having v sync disabled (no input lag), don't get "disructed" by some fps drops) but nothing more.

IMO and experience so far having a G sync monitor is 1 way ticket, you won't look back, EVER, still just before buying know what you really buy and why.

1440p with 1 970 is not enough...unless you really don't care for best visual quality, then it should be OK.

*actually BEST gaming (depending by game but it counts almost for any) is between 85-120 fps.=]

Doom scales very well with any hardware. It's not a surprise the GTX 970 doing well.

GTX 1070 finally hit the stores in my country, but after seeing its price ($544), I felt happy that I decided before not to replace my GTX 970 yet.
