Yikes. E8400 was an OK match for the 460, but it is definitely extremely limiting for a 670. You could try upgrading to some quad core CPU if you can find it used for a good price somehow, but upgrading the motherboard + cpu is probably best in the long run.

I just had a couple of these turn up today with a matching CPU.
Should make a little bit of difference to the temps i think

The results of this would be interesting to see.
At the current state I'd doubt the lower temperatures would result in (much) higher boost clocks, especially if you don't have additional cooling on the vreg section.

heatkiller block arrived today! card now hovers at 52~53 running heaven 3.0 that and the 145% target power level, i'll never have to worry about throttling.

will post pictures when im not lazy.

Lovely looking Blocks. I had a Heatkiller CPU block ages ago when they first came on the market. Beautiful quality stuff.

I don't get close to that with a 670 clocked slightly lower. The vantage score can be dismissed because it is ridiculously cpu dependent but the 11 score is puzzling to me. :/

With which CPU? I've seen a 1-2k variance with different CPUs in 3Dmark11 its mainly that pure Physics CPU test

The cards default boost speed is 1215mhz and I have got 2200mhz cl9 ram so 3DM11 physics score is rather high.

Indeed, but the physics are graphics score are separate?

    http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3825021

That is as much as I can get out of my 670 with the same core clock as you are running with the memory about 40mhz slower.

btw I'm not sure why my cpu score is so low. I assumed it was because of the slow memory but I've seen scores about 1k higher than that using similar memory and cpu speed.

Anyone elses 3D11 scores go down after installing 304.79 over 304.48??

304.79 got some problems which is locked fps to 60 on GT3 test in 3DM11 so the score is reducing
