Exactly, suddenly avatars are so important :)

Most publications and authoritative voices say it's most probably a design fault.
The real question is, will nVidia stand up to it or will they keep releasing drivers and BIOSes to continue what they are doing, which is basically covering it up.

I'm expecting high failure rate, because if the card literally blows up with just a minor overvoltage, that means the VRM is working on the edge even on stock voltage. This in turn means a significantly shortened life span of those cards, even without OC/OV at all.

Do not count on nvidia standing up to say anything other that "we did nothing wrong." Remember how they responded to their faulty laptop GPUs a couple years ago.

I have seen 1 guy at xs kill one but he had a standard oem looking one.
seems he is a oem builder and killed it playing c2(still stinks like bs if you ask me)one that did not have the classy full backplate(what i wanted)but was still a oem evga card somehow.

I did hear about a zotec and pov but no pics

I cancelled my order i'll wait for an evga to show up....

I missed the EVGA cards last week, sold out in like 5 mins, so I went with a 6990.

Good move, if you can live with the noise, wich is not to bad during gaming, don't look back, you got the better card and wont see any smoke coming from it, even with an substansial overclock - with voltage increase - aswell...

    Enjoy the fastest card ever...
