Problem is the other reviewers who have got the same problem was using the good driver ( 267.71 if im right ), and for some it seems even without overclock the cards.

That's why it sounds like a serious hardware problem.

well it "shouldn't" happen anymore with latest 267.89 driver.. apparently they enabled that power limiter for all apps including games.

But yea i still can't believe it, why would they be so cheap on the most important parts??.. I thought they learned their lesson with 480gtx to use HQ parts, but i guess that power limiter looked to good to be true and they shifted all excuses on that..

    lmao  at nvidia :eek:c:

Ouch. It's a good thing I wait to see if there's anything wrong with stuff for a few months before I buy them :p.

Seriously, what happened to stress testing a product before releasing it on the market?
What happened to stressing the card to it's breaking point?!
Ffs nvidia, this is unacceptable for this company's level..

Reminds me of the same issue many saw with the GTX 570.

Funny thing is there is a least x2 posters in this thread who said those who blew a 570 were called a noob and the user was blamed, yet here its a design flaw and nvidias fault !!
    ;)

    Also.....Is this card really a fail ???

The card works as sold, no-one is being forced to OV their card.

    Hehehe :)
That whole did you kill a 570 thing is still going strong !!!

On a serious note though, are nvidia using cheaper VRM's now, or is it the fact the 590 has 5 phases per pcb vs 6 on a real 580 ?
By that logic though we'd expect to see more 570's dead having only 4 !!
Bar the noobs like me of course (and the 12 others on OCN)
