    Hi guys how are you?

I have 2 GTX 580 SLI here, and i was thinking to buy a single GTX 690 to replace my cards

Is it worth? The performance will be a lot better or not?

I know that this year we will have in market the 7x series, but compating my atual 580SLI and a single 690, is it a good deal?

If not, any idea when the next generation will be avaiable?

Sorry for my English, I`m From Brazil:)

I`m awaiting the 780 to come out. almost bought 2 670/680 several times. 2 of them will spank a 690 if the rumors are true.

But the difference from a 580 SLI to a 690 worth? is really big?

The problem is the GTX 690 here in Brazil costs about 1900 $ , very expensive

I vote for keeping your 580's for a while :)

The main reason I used 690's over 680's was efficiency (and fitting four 680's would have been much more work).

A singe card takes less room and cable management than two separate cards. Also, the 690 (If your using the stock cooler) is a lot quieter than two 680's

That being said, two 680's are a little faster than a single 690, though you can easily overclock the 690.

All that aside, unless you need the extra performance you could just keep your existing cards.

The problem is that I'm using the Dell U2711 here and the resolution of 2560x1440 pushs the fps lower than a 1080p resolution

Any idea when the series 7 will be avaiable?

After what you said guys i think i'll stay eith my 580 SLI, the gain with 690 or 680 SLI will not be impressive right? Even qith news drivers?

    Thanks again
