For the owners of GTX 480's (maybe only EVGA, but try with other brands), there is no need to unlock the voltage of your bios. use the latest E-LEET utility to modify your GTX 480 Voltage up to 1.352v and the pwm frequency up around 800 (though i wouldnt touch this much).

This can easily get 950+ clocks. 470 users still have to wait for a future version to support the 470.

Got 850/1700/1674 working on default voltages :x Metro 2033 didn't crash/didn't show artefacts for over an hour. I'm gonna wait for the Zalman 3000F cooler. I sent a mail to thermalright but they're not going to make a VRM cooler for the 470's, they will for the 480's. They stated that there are just to many 470's which don't follow the reference design.

There is no freaking way the VRMs are safe at 1.352. I feel like mine are going to explode at 1.212...No way I could run 1.352, surely that's only for extreme runs.

interestingly, that's the same core/mem speed my card from gainward tops out at... although i can use 1.075v... try the minimial stable voltage with these clocks, it will reduce your temps considerably if you succeed!

thanks for the advice ;) the problem is that in second test in vantage driver stop responding if i set the vcore lower any idea?
in stability test it works fine @ 1.100v for 2 hours.
    strange :(

i can't figure why i can't get the 900 mhz :( even if i rise the vgpu till the max no help :(
i'm using now evga voltage unlocked 1.213 bios :(

It's likely you've reached your maximum OC. It's not unlimited ya know?

Probably needs more then the max stock bios voltage. Same happened to my 470. I could bump the shader/core upto 850/1700 on 1087v, 900 only was stable for about 30 mins. I'm just gonna wait for that E-Leet program and some custom coolers and then fiddle some more with it.

    Hi all

    newbie here :)

    i got a Leadtek GTX 470 watercooled
    with this block
    [IMG]

    im now running
    790Mhz core and 1828Mhz mem with 1.087V
im guessing that you can go higher than that?
what do you experts have to say

i saw someone here that was running at 900+ mhz core on a 470 ?

what should i do to get that clock?
    new bios and higher Voltage?

the GPU temp now with overclock is around 57
im waiting a 240 rad since i only have a single120 atm so the GPU temp will
    be even lower

900+ core will need unlocked bios which allows upto 1213mv instead of 1087mv limit imposed on 470 cards.

ok so the limit is at 1.087?
why can i choose up to 1.2v in afterburner then?
    havnt tride it yet ;)

so who has these new bioses?
is it safe to unlock the bios? no other bugs with it?

If you can choose 1.2v in ab then your bios ain't locked, some don't have locked bios's, my card has locked bios, but i used special modded bios which allowed 1213mv.
Best performing BIOS for GTX470 - also known as "grunion's ocx480 bios"
    EVGA Identifying - 1.15v max.
EVGA Identifying - 1.21v max. i use this one

    Edit: the Voltage IS locked
i can choose up to 1.213 in afterburner but when i choose anything
higher than 1.087 it kicks back to 1.087

so i guess i need another bios
