tommyk2005 thats a wicked score but why u cpu lower then mine when im clocked lower is that the physx part allso dont forget u useing 2 gpus to my 1 mind u ide still be happy with the score really shows there no real point to moveing to the 400 cards just yet but then again this is just one benchmark

+ i can only wish to beable to run at 4ghz lol

your cpu score with physics on is being done by an uber clocked 470 compared to my moderate clock on my 295. the cpu is doing nothing for the cpu score with physics enabled. the gpu does all the work

I have been testing to see how far the GTX470 goes without any voltage adjustments it's at default 0.975volts, managed 780 core 1560 shaders 1800 memory. With custom fan profile with afterburner, idle 45% and max 70% and played metro2033 a couple of hours since it uses 100% gpu all the time.Max temp it reached was 81c with ambient temp of 27c.To push it any further i will have to increase voltage which i am not willing to do.Generally i am very happy with the card and its overclocking potential. At first i was skeptical about purchasing my card due to all the comments and reviews about how hot it gets like 95c in actual gaming it does not exceed 81c and this is with ambient temp at 27c.
[edit]made a mistake on voltage seems like the new whql drivers increased the voltage to 1.000.default.

It's lots of fun Wanny!! You should be loving your scores with the gtx 470's.. Those are just as good in my opinion.. I love them! Thanks David!! Hell yes this is fun!! :D
I actually dont have alot of money.. lol! I just dont spend it wisely.... or do I? :)
I usually sell alot of stuff once I'm done.. Only really keep my favorites.. All for the sake of running tests.. All for the friends here at guru3d.. That's why I started going crazy in the first place.. :D

Ok, I finally got around to replacing the thermal paste with some Arctic Silver and I finally have my temps under control under load. At 70% fan speed and overclocked my GTX470 doesnt go above 88*C which is much better than before where it was hitting past 95*C.

The downside is even though I have my temps in check, I still cant seem to OC higher without artifacts :( I can have the memory at 1000mhz with the voltage cranked and temps are fine, but artifacts galore. Going above 850mhz on the core is a no go even with the voltage up.

I have settled to just leaving the core at 800, memory at 900, at 1.025v.

it maybe due his is not stressing the card the bus speed drop :)
but when it stressed it run on full speed :) this is my opinion :D
