    Hi guys,
    I bought a evga gtx 295 today
    And it works good etc.
But only thing is he make really much sound, and then i dont mean the fan or something, but u know when a card is sucking much electicity u hear like a beep.
My gtx 280 does it to but this card is really beeping much higher which is quite annoying.
    Is this normal?
And other gtx 295 users have it to?

Can it be that my power supply dont give enough juice to the card?
I have a xilence 1000 watt power supply

shouldnt be a beep. sometimes theres a whiny noise when u run a gpu intensive game or 3dmarkvantage.

are u using evga prec tool or rivatuner to control the fan? but if u mean a short beeping noise then sounds likes something is wrong. for example i mean a beep is a sound that your mobile makes when its running low on battery..:)

Maybe cuz he almost can use 300watt.
But i didnt play very long with it yet but if i play crysis he constantly whine, and thats annoying.
I understand when he is in loading screens and spitten 5000fps he whine but ingame?

Hmm... it shouldn't be whining ingame... usually it's just in menu screens or in cases of VERY high FPS.

If it's unbearable, i'd probably consider RMA and hopefully the replacement will be problem free :)

I can't say i've ever hard of Raptoxx personally, but a 1000Watt PSU should be fine. See if you can find the sound with your ears if possible.

    Im using a xilence 1000watt atm with 4x 20A and 2x 33A.
The sound is coming close to the fan i think.

295 doesn't even use 220W during full load, many people are running the card completely fine on a 550W PSU.

I think the noise is normal, my ASUS GTX295 makes it too. It's still kinda scary (like: its gonna fri any minute now) noise though.

Your power supply is more than sufficient. Recommended Specs for the GTX 295 are for a minimum of a 680 power supply with 46 Amps sustained/continuous power on the +12v rail. You may do just fine with less wattage, but it's the +12V rail and quality of the unit which really counts. Some may also tell you the specs are over stated a bit as they likey are, but I wouldn't try running the GTX 295 on a 250W PSU and a Potato Battery either.

Here's an article I found when the squealing fan thing came-up on another forum. Interesting read ....
