nah its not the cpu its artis from the card but in 05? its wierd to have for the fact in 03 those clocks are stable.

    thanks for the reply :)
woah.. that 260s of yours runs very poor.. my buddy just bought POV gtx260 sp216 and it runs @ 730/1520++/1280 and it was stable running farcry 2 benchmark, dunno about 3dmark06, vantage and furmark :p

man.. i can't believe reference card a.k.a. original card could run stable on any of GPU stress software at that clocks.. except if you did voltmod and use DICE or LN2 for the cooler.. :bang:

give us 3dmark06 and vantage performance screenshot

    ---
btw, here's mine the currently most stable clocks with stock cooler + 120mm fan pointed infront of stock cooler fan, idle 46°C load 83°C @ 2mins furmark 1680x1050 fulscreen, damn.. i should get HR-03GTX

my evga sc gtx260 216oc's got here so....
i just took one shake down run after driver install, then i put the cpu on dry ice cooling.
i think i may find more as is,but hopefully when i get them alittle cooler and add some volts maybe they will go faster

I managed to reach 730/1560/1260 with default cooling (fan at 80%)
It runs through fluidmark and 3dmark06 without artifacts, but Furmark and OCCT is too hard on the card and it makes artifacts.

Mine are at 740/1300/1520 Core, Mem, Shader and rarely exceed above 55 C!!!!

    So far 640/1291/2072

I'm a bit of a pussy when it comes to overclock lol! I know it can takes way more than that. Temps are good and it's only running at 65% fan...

690/1450/2400 so far. Pretty stable and cool. I refuse to go in the 700 core clocks tho, I don't like the number :\

Man, i must have a lucky gtx 260 or something.. cause mine runs at 759/1201/1587, (core, mem, shade) at 56 celcius full load with the fan speed at 75% (folding, crysis maxed, far cry maxed, benchmarks etc.) , and the best part, its all stock cooling !!

i usually only crank it up to that when i need to, and it works fine for hours, but i usually run just the shader clock up that high for folding and bring the rest down so i dont fizzle my card out one day.

RivaTuner is awsome btw, you can change the core/shader/mem clocks all separetly, there not linked, and the fan speed and everything, i gotta hand it to guru3d, thats one awsome program.

As well, i had a question if anyone wouldnt mind answering, is it safe too just runt he shader clock high (around 1550) and leave the core clock and memory down too about 650/1080 ?? or should they all be either up , or all of them down ?

Edit: oh and no, i do not live in the coldest part of the north pole, its been 40 degrees celcius outside for the past 3 weeks. =P

Right guys, I just got a EVGA GTX260 SSC last week. Started pushing it this evening and seems stable at 720mhz core (1548 shader). Ran 10 crysis benches in a loop without crash or artifacts, Atitool has been running for 20 minutes now with no artifacts found (can I do something else on my pc while doing that, or do I have to watch it? When running just the 3d view I know it stops rendering when atitool loses focus, but temps with scanning for artifacts stay stable). Temps are 76c atitool and 78c in the crysis bench (room temp is 26c). I haven't touched furmark with these OC's yet out of fear (reading stories of fried cards...). Do you think I should? Or should I just keep testing with 3dmark06/atitool/crysis?

I never overclocked my GTX 260 I found it useless. Didn't gain anything.

Used some tie wraps to stick a 80mm (zalman) fan in front of the card's own fan. Running it at half speed, can't hear it. Stops my card's own fan to go higher than 43%, so no noise. Temps stay at 74c in atitool (goes to 75c once in a while for like 1 sec), used to be 78c in atitool before my ghetto mod.

30min atitool, no artifacts, 741 core 1620 shaders. lolz tbh. Haven't touched memory yet.

I can't get much higher than FTW clocks but still on stock voltage. The shaders are the hardest to OC.

I don't need to OC for most of my games though.

I've hit the limit on my core/shaders (I got 'm linked). 756/1620. Almost 20min in atitool nothing weird. Tried 771/1648, but that gave artifacts after couple of min (atitool reported nothing, but i saw a small amount of yellow things appearing ). I'm happy. Insane OC on stockcooling with 74-75c (roomtemp is 26c) and fan at 45% tops (<3 my 80mm support fan).

edit: had to lower it. 756/1620 showed artifacts once in a while in furmark after 5 minutes.

733/1580/1210 not bad on the stock cooler i think :)
