Has anyone got into volt-modding these cards yet? I wonder if they will hit G92 speeds with more voltage?

NOT with the heat these cards put out. Some people are lucky and have good cooling to their card, most of us however run fairly hot. I'm this -- close to buying watercooling.

    new high temp!!!

i just looked at hwmonitor after a long time of not paying attention to it, and i saw the high temp said 135c!!!!! anyone ever seen a temp that high? and no crash, no driver reset, no problem. i dont even know when that would have occurred, but for some reason my fan speed was cut to 55% for some reason instead of 100%. i dont understand why the fan speed would change. and considering it was crashing at 65c how exactly did it not crash when it hit double that?? anyone?

i got my gtx 280 able to run at 670/1500/2430 with 85c max temp and fan on auto running at 75%. All air cooled, mid tower case:p

Eh, all thoses temps are insane! It hardly get over 72c with the fan at auto, 40%.
But that's whit a 140mm fan blowing directly at it, both on the top and bottom.

I just have a fan in front of my case blowing air in. I got a little more out of it with the same fan speed and temp to, 700/1465/2500. Not bad for me Oo

Ok so i'm gettng the yellow delta too, but its not reporting as an error?? Is it safe at my speed as long as it dosent say errors durring ati tool? When I installed ati tool a few windows came up saying its not compatible. Are these delta things in ref to those windows saying not compatible? Or are they in fact artifacts but there just not being reported as errors? Please advise.

Are you running Vista X64? If so that message you received when installing ATI tool means that it does not have compatible drivers for the OS. In fact I cannot even run it on Vista X64.

Unless there is a beta version out that works on Vista X64?

I would just use Furmark, 3dmark vantage, and any games that you normally play to test for stability. I found furmark does a great job and gets me much higher temps then any of the games I play, So I usually run that for about 10mins and then play games to further test for stability.

Even with crysis it only gets to 50C. But with furmark it brings me to 55C.

Yup, I have Vista 64.. Are you telling me with your oc evga stock 280 cooler at those speeds your at 55c? idle right? If not idle how are you doing that? My speeds bring me to 80c load.

The farthest oc I can achieve on my eVGA 280gtx is 702/1404/2592 Well not to sure about the memory but it seems fast enough for now. I just cannot take my shader core past 1404 no matter what! Sucks cause it limits my core clock to 702. 81c max load fan at 93

No I have the GTX 280 on water thats why temps are that low.

just ran FurMark, when the core temp reached 87°C, i getting artifact (core clock artifact)

    ---
is it true when the card runs cooler, i can go for more clocks?
thinking of buying Thermalright HR-03 GTX

well sometimes it does help for more stabilty.
i have a bfg 260 that runs very poor compared to some of you guys
    700/1400/1050?? I36c - 47L
it was @I27c-L38C and it gained....nothing
card is wierd will run all benches at these speeds but...05???wtf??

Do you mean 3DMark05? 05 will put more strain on the CPU. Have you added more voltage to the cpu/ram or NB? Can you pass 30min of OCCT?

My 280 would crash at 680-1250-2200 (max speed I could get to) unless fan speed was at 100% and even then after awile would crash as heat built up. Water cooling helped alot, infact more so than any Nvidia card to date.

My maximum stable overclock for my gtx260 is core 694 shader 1496 memory 1285x2 2570
without increasing fan speed all my games gain an average of 15% increase in perfomance.
I could try to go higher by increasing my fan speed but i am very happy with my results and i dont think it is worth pushing the card any further.

    push it to the limit

Ive been running my XFX GTX 260 (not core 216) at 769/1538/2542 (stock 640/1363/1150) and it definitely makes a difference. My Vantage score went from 10,700 to 12,100. I can tell a big difference in farcry 2, and if i give it enough airflow it has no problems. If it gets too warm, itll usually crash out after an hour or so, but im still working on it. This is so tantalizingly close to stable i dont want to back down. This thing is outperforming stock 280's and it was half the price.

Should we belive that's stable ?
Post ATITool artifact scan with that clocks (RivaTuner) cause you can put you Core to 1GHz and verify it via GPUz.
