Hi, my first post here in this forum, I hope this is not in the wrong place!

Last month I bought a gtx 1080 used on internet. It wouldn´t post at boot and I tried it in all three systems I have acces to, all three running good with and without gpu. I used the Igpu on my I5 11400 to boot up with the gtx 1080 connected but couldn´t detect it in windows 10 even though fans are spinning and rgb is alive, the leds showing power on the 6plu 8 pins being turned on. Tried ddu and a few iterations of new drivers non of which recognized the gpu ,tried nvflash that didn´t recognize the gpu. Plugged it in to my older amd system to allow nvflash dos version at boot, still no detection. I´m kinda out of options at this point but would really like to know for sure it´s a dead gpu before I give up on it since I can´t get a refund... Thankful for any ideas

Consider yourself lucky it didn't damage the systems you put it into.
And good luck with the refund.

I didn't mean it to come across like that.
Most of us are aware of the number of dodgy cards being resold during this current time of scarcity when people seem prepared to buy older cards that previously they might never have considered.
I can assure you I would not be trying out a card bought from the internet on my main pc motherboard.
I'll be pleased if the OP replies saying he has sucessfully obtained a refund, he didn't say which site he obtained the card from.

Honestly anyone buying a second hand video card at this time is playing russian roulette with their money if the source of the card they are buying from does not have a way of refunding...

Buying from a source with no refund is just asking to be ripped off.

I agree it's a bad time, especially all the gurus here becoming scalpers too.
