I've had the GTX 1070 for atleast 6 months with no issues.
I have 2 televisions I use as monitors hooked up to it.
One samsung tv is hooked up with HDMI and one Sony hooked up with a HDMI to DVI cable since the GTX 1070 only has one HDMI port....

I have them configured in extended desktop.
Starting last week when I wake my pc up the extended desktop (sony) is not detected/black.
The TV is on and shows that it is on the correct input but the screen is black.

I tried the rigorous display detection option in the Nvidia control panel which did not work, as well as detect displays in the windows screen resolution menu...still nothing.

The only thing that seems to work is to put the computer back to sleep or shut it down and then turn it back on or wake it back up and then the second screen will be detected and work properly.

This issue is getting very frustrating, does anyone have a solution to this problem?
    Thanks.

Sounds like a HW error. I'd open a support ticket. I've had a similar issue with 3 monitors on a EVGA 980Ti. Changing the HW solved my issue.
