I use my computer solely for Maya. I am going to buy a new graphics card soon, and I would like to know if I will get more performance from an Ultra or Pro converted to a Quadro2 compared to a converted GTS, or if they are evened out as soon as they make it to the Quadro2 status. Also, I would really appreciate emails about people using a converted card with Maya. Is there REALLY a performance increase that justifies the risk? Thank you for any input!
Michael Purcell
rumorstar@premierweb.net
I work with Lightwave primarily (been in 3d since 1986).....if you plan to upgrade, wait until the GeForce 3 128meg comes out. It'll be expensive but still not as much as dedicated OpenGL (Oxygen etc) cards.
Expensive?Huh $600 thats nothing...Just kidding.i think it will not have 128mb of ram and the gpu clock will be running @200.Looking forward for the first tests
It will have 128 mb of ram after the first stages. Might be worth the bucks, we'll see, i know there very little performance diff between 32mb and 64mb other than super high res, and not even that much.
