    GT-525M STOCK + Undervolt VBIOS + Flash to 540M AND 550M

I am sharing my stock and undervolted VBIOS of my GT-525M. My VBIOS'es also flash your 525M to a 540M or a 550M.

This has ONLY been tested on the DDR3 edition of the GT-525M. The GDDR5 requires higher voltages probably.

    GT-525M VBIOS Stock
    GT-525M VBIOS Undervolted 0.85v
    GT-525M to GT-540M VBIOS 0.95v
    GT-525M to GT-550M VBIOS 0.95v

Overclocking VBIOS will come soon, I am currently working on a 525M to 550M and a 525M to a 540M VBIOS MOD

If you like my work feel free to donate.
I am not responsible for bricking your motherboard or GPU.

N5110 A09 BIOS MODS - You will find N5110 BIOS mods there

Voltage table is found by searching for hex 30 0F 04 04
    Voltages are stored as: 0.95v --> 95 --> 5F
Clocks table is found by searching for hex ... (around address offset CE50)
Clocks are stored as 16-bit Floating Points

I successfully unlocked my 525M to a 550M with some manual hex editing.

    Stock GT-525M KMARK Score: 1050
    GT-525M to GT-550M Mod KMARK Score: 1250

    Hi,
Good work and thanks for sharing.
Hows the temp been while running it oc'd?

Wonder what the wattage the GT 550m is.
    eg: 525M 25w, 540m 35w
    So as a conservative guess 550m 42w

    Using Dell 15R-N5110 my CPU 35w, Mod GT 525M -> GT 550M 42w
    My power adapter is 90w.
Worst case seems like I'd be pushing my power supply close to it's limits once you add add HD, DVD, Wled Screen, WiFi and if you ran everything at the same time flat out.

Edit: I notice you have post in the Laptop section here at Guru3D forum, maybe you should supply a link to your thread forum.notebookreview where you've posted your edited N5110 Bios Mod (A09 bios).

85C with the 550m bios mod on msi kombustor extreme stress test

It will be higher with games. So I am trying to find the lowest voltage we need to power the 525m at those clocks. I don't think we have much undervolting room left with the 550m mod. I changed voltages to 0.90v with the 550m and my laptop doesn't get a screen anymore. So my best bet is undervolting the 540m mod I guess.

But each voltage lower is welcome :D My laptop will be repaired today so I can start programming my vbioses again.

The vbioses above are tested and work fine.

    Hi!
At first, sorry for my english - its not pretty well :)

Thanx for your work and vbioses you shared here, its very interesting.
I'd like to flash my 525M to 550M but afraid to do this because:
    1. Using NiBiTor 6.0.3 I can't even read my own vbios to file, can only open your 4 vbioses. (edit: already read that this is normally)
    2. Nvflashw says that "No nVidia card found", can't save vbios with this program too.
    3. GPU-Z says "BIOS reading not supported on this device".

What reason of this errors I don't know. Win7 x64? nVidia optimus technology?
Can you help me with soft I need to try for read/write vbios?

    Some comments about
"85C with the 550m bios mod on msi kombustor extreme stress test
It will be higher with games."

Using MSI Afterburn I modify next params:
Core Clock 600 -> 780 (reached limit in program)
Shader Clock 1200 -> 1560 (reached limit in program)
Memory Clock 900 -> 1091 (limit of memory, on 1095 artefacts appears in ATITools test)

With this settings I run 3DMark Vantage, other tests and play Battlefield3 for 15-20 minutes. Only in Battlefield3 I get max 77-82C, in other tests it was 72-77C.
So, I surprised to read about 85C and more with 740-1480-900MHz settings.
I have 22C at home, you made this measurements this summer or autumn? :)

"My laptop will be repaired today so I can start programming my vbioses again."
Where you repaire your laptop and how it works? (I mean, this is something like hardware flash your vbios with factory settings?)
Interesting, if something goes wrong during flashing vbios, can I boot laptop using Intel HD3000 video (it runs by defaults) and flash nVidia vbios back?

You cant flash these VBIOSES. You need to mod your laptop's main BIOS and replace my module with the one in your BIOS.

I COULD do that for you. But it's risky.

I can run my 525m at 550m clocks at 0.85v undervolted

In my testing a bad nvidia vbios will result into intel hd3000 taking the job over. But I did something wrong in programming the bios itself. And that's why it did not boot anymore.

Don't worry. Flashing original BIOS'es can be risky as well.

    Don't forget you have an i5 installed while I have a i7

    Thanks for answers.
I don't ready for risky steps and want to use some checked decisions :)

    Anything For XPS L502x?

    hi,
can you do the BIOS mod for dell XPS L502x?
Am using dell BIOS A06 and having nVidia GT 525M. yesterday i tried oc'ing my GPU with nvidia inspector 1.9.5 to 681MHz and reached 81-82 while playing battlefield 3.
Am not able to undervolt is using nvidia inspector 1.9.5 so i decided not to go any further and reduced the oc to 678Mhz as here in my region its very hot in summers.

    Please help.

Any L502x love? For some reason no one has managed to mod the bios on this laptop model...... I'm running the 525m at 780/1560/1000 stable.... but I worry about the heat generation and would like to undervolt. I have tried EVGA precision, but that only allows me to overvolt... not undervolt.... I would like to try .90 or even .95...... Thanks

I was wondering if there's anyway to OVERVOLT the L702x A14 BIOS for the 550GT GPU.

Great work - thanks for sharing!

I've used your BIOS extracts to mod my Dell XPS 15z laptop - for some reason directly editing the hex files didn't work, but replacing my VBIOS directly with your files and repackaging worked! For now I'm on an undervolted (0.85) GT-525M.

Out of interest, do you have the ROMs for an undervolted 540M and 555M? Just wanted to check if they'd work in my 15z :)

    Thanks again and great work!

    Cheers

Well I think I tried the XPS series before. Don't they have UEFI or something? I could try again. But I think I failed to do it last time :) I will post again if i know more.
