I don't lose/gain any FPS with GI on or off (but not really noticable when on or off neither lol...) But AL yeah big FPS drop
But I must say there is not really any graphics improvements compared to previous grids ... Not horrid not good, meh. I do agree the engine has reached it's limits, but runs better than grid 2.
I could run GRID 2 with AL & GI at 60fps in spite of the GK104's less than stellar compute performance. GRID Autosport should run fine and it should because while it looks damn good this is not a next-gen tour de force. It is plain obvious the game is built around the 360/PS3's limitations. Dirt 4 should absolutely bonkers with the PS4/Xbox One as a baseline.
Hopefully. I hope to see some amazing partical effects. Oh yeah and at 1080 I could as well on just one 670. I just kept them turned off as I ran the game upscaled to 1440p and wanted to be sure not to dip under 60fps.
It also feels like the A.I drivers have some form of rubber banding A.I as the only way I can seem to overtake anyone is in the corners when they all break and I break a little late and then overtake them. Then once out of the corner no matter how hard I push the gas the cars in front just seem to magically get some form of nitrous and literally zoom straight ahead by at least 3-5seconds!! This I know is not really "rubber banding" as such but it happens time and time and time again making racing extremely frustrating. I think I have come 2nd in one race the other times its always between 5th and 9th place.
I found the only real way to overtake and beat their cheating AI is to not brake at the corners, and use them as brakes instead with no damage to yourself set in options, that way you can come first fairly often and don't feel as bad at them for cheating
This reminds me of the Madden games of the past (not sure about current) where the AI would be programmed to cheat when you started winning to keep the game competitive. Any off chance I had of picking this up in a future sale just went out the door.. This game sounds awful from every perspective now.
when i saw in the car view videos a few weeks ago i dropped all interest in this, then i saw the average reviews saying it was too hard and i was interested again lol, but from what you guys are saying i think ill sit this one out.
Drive it more like a SIM. Think NFS Shift (the first one). I have no issue getting top spot on normal difficulty and can easily be in the top 5 on hard.
hehe yep, ive been doing the same thing. Its like some sort of bumper car simulator. Also notice that if you're in first place you can suddenly get about 5 seconds lead on the cars that was beating you on the straights, its like the Ai gives up. Game really is total crap to be honest.
I can't be the only one with this issue. My wheel (Logitech G27), after some minutes of driving, it will just get stuck to the right (literally) I can drive, but, if I let the wheel go, it will go to the right. Sometimes, FFB and vibration will just not works, even though, it's enabled. If I disable "Vibration" in game, I have no FFB, but, this does not happen.... Also, when this happens, I can't open the Logitech Gaming Software NOR the control panel of PAD (Game controller settings) I have to disconnect and reconnect the wheel. Also, this the ONLY game where this **** happens. Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks.
