Same. I bought in August, when Nvidia prices were the lowest. I couldn't know the price would immediately rise again, my card simply dropped 1 € below the 1500 € red line I wasn't willing to cross. Though I work in IT, and the warning signs that shortages all across the board would increase in Q4 again were all over. And there won't be a new normal for years. Demand for chips in all aspects of life will only increase.

oof oh no  you're right :(
I bought my "trash-tier" (quality speaking) KFA2 (galax) 3090 for 1725€ when the crisis was just being out of stock and not yet max crypto or covid so people were waiting for better asus msi models and didn't want that brand, I was pessimistic and tought waiting was a bad idea, I was right sadly
when I checked like 1-2 months ago it was around 1930€ not quite back to my price but better after the china anti-crypto announcement
I just checked now and prices are again ultra high cheapest gigabyte 3090 2200€ a rog strix 2673€ at an official asus retailer

Someone asked me to choose between two prebuilts I told him to buy the one with an RTX inside buying the card alone today would have been 3/4 of the entire pc

I see no future for us until hardcore political decisions are taken like banning crypto or stopping the insanity of "connected" items that have no reason to be in the 1st place like bikes, tootbrushes, cars and all that crap no one asked for and which only point is programmed obsolesence, loss of ownership for the customer and big data/control of slaves/customers

Small print on graph says that this is excluding newer series such as Ti models. So doesn't show us price of models not being bought for mining.

the new ti models are good for mining, at least the 3070ti, not like og 30 series but good.
the 3080 lhr is bad for mining.

Both are power hungry and both offer excellent gaming experience, og 3080s are like gold dust they're not made now.
Nvidia must have known the og 30 series were incredible miners.

The market is stupid beyond understandment. But yeah as much as it sucks not exploiting it ourselves would be stupid. I sold my 5700XT for twice the amount i paid two years ago and was able to upgrade to a 6800 for a difference of 400$ CAD. I'm set for the next two years too ;)
