yea because i built my computer with the intent of playing games and i waited off on the graphics card until school was finished. plus im not will to pay top doller for the next gen cards. I dont think they will be that huge of an improvement either because ATI isnt really pressuring nvidia.

    I agree.

But even though ATI isn't pressuring nVidia at the moment, they are about to come out with their 4000-series, so maybe they will. The GT200 are rumored to be teraflops-monsters, I doubt that'd let all that power go to waste.
And they aren't as pressured as ATI was when they launched the 2900XT, which is a good thing. Cause the 2900XT had over a teraflop of processing power, yet it was beaten by the 8800GTX, which was even G80. The 8800GTX had half the processing power ;)

Also keep in mind Price-Performance value when you're recommending the g200 cards. The highest end are supposed to be more expensive than the gx2, which is already above this guy's range, and I have to wonder how much less expensive the other cards will be.

Two 8800 gts 512 in SLI woiuld be phenomenal. At 14x9, you would probably be doing well with just one, also. I've read a LOT of reviews and opinions that don't speak too highly of the 9800 gtx compared to the 8800 gts 512. They're both based on the same card, and I've seen people OC the gts 512 to the same levels as an overclocked 9800 gtx. The 8800 will save you some money and is still a beast of a card.

8800GT SLi they are like 159.99 aafter rebate around the same price as a 9800 GTX and 2x800 GTs will blow a 9800 GTX out of the water and 3 months from now you can step-them up for better cards and spend the same amount you would have by buying on 9800 GTX and then another later for SLI but getting the performance NOW not later :)

Ok well the 8800 GTS seems mighty popular. I guess I should go with that since it is cheaper. it will save me some coin.
