Thought I'd give it a go with hyperthreading off and I'm seeing between 60 and 70% usage across all six cores...

Yeah, i find that i actually get better game performance with hyper threading disabled in some games... in most games it doesnt make a difference in though, so i just leave it disabled for the games that Works better with it off :)

Yep same here. Ive had a few games do this recently to me . Dying light to name 1. Metro 2033 Redux and cities skylines is fine though. But its a ongoing issue with the latest batch of nvidia drivers.

Edit : Found this on another site.. "Hey guys, if anyone is having the [ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT] error crashes I just found a fix for it. Rename/make backups of the files "d3dcompiler_46.dll" and "d3dcsx_46.dll" in your root GTA V folder and then verify the local files on Steam( or just delete and start if on RSC). Simple fix but it took me a while to think of it so maybe it can help some others too." I'll try it

I've found the same, seems to be cryengine games that benefit the most from having it enabled.

And to think, people called me crazy buying a 6 core CPU 5 years ago, paying off now lol

Yeah, and with coming dx12 cpu optimizations... perhaps youll never need to buy a new cpu... or at least not till it dies :p

Contrast on images looks fugly, I think rockstar didnĀ“t get the memo that nvidia enabled full range rgb a few drivers ago.

Sounds like the game scales up well. Has anyone tried it with lower end hardware?

I have an older APU powered Acer laptop here that I'd try it on, but its a bit of a pain to transfer over steam game files and get it to recognize it sometimes.

    I'll probably do it tomorrow.

Games running butter smooth for me at 1080p max settings + high textures, 1440p downsampling plus FXAA looks really good and Gsync's working perfect, so pretty pleased with the performance so far, the draw distance is mindblowing only thing is the vram limitation, need to find a way to bypass it.

People don't play games like GTA:V with only 4GB RAM. It's just a dumb thing to do. You're literally asking for stutter and FPS drops.

Why are you sticking with 4GB RAM? Money? IF so buy a console and sell your PC....

Rule of thumb, when VRAM starts averaging what you have in your system for main RAM and is many cases doubles or triples it. It's time to upgrade bro. Seriously.

    Wow, really?

Your system is the worst I've seen since GTA:V launch and it plays well?

Jesus, my 980 will kill it then, even my 970M will, sweet! Great news.

"In many cases doubles or triples it"

Really, where are all these abundant and affordable 8GB and 12GB cards?

Rockstar states the minimum requirements of 4GB of system RAM, I imagine if he isn't running anything in the background that he'll be able to play it.
