I think what was said about characters looking too cartoony was meant as it'd be nice if r* moved away from that design. Atm, with the way the game looks and more so when lighting mods are made (enb?) the rest of the game is going to make the current char models look out of place (much like gtaIV with the right enb).

Alex13@ I didnt mention gta5 in my last post. You wrote that GTAIII/VC/SA were most certainly not done in cartoon style, so I just showed you how these games looked like. IMO it's cartoon style, but I also need to say, that this cartoon style wasnt something bad, and I was amazed how good graphic in gta 3/VC/SA looked like.

Cool, just seemed you were taking this a bit hard, what with the whole 10yr old pr shot excavation and all.

Cant wait to see PC trailer. Tempted to pre-order, but will wait for it to come out and see how it runs. I got burned with GTA4.

I'm willing to trust them. What they did with the PS4 version (1st person / more world details) is beyond awesome. That and MaxPayne3 was perfectly done.

If only they'd announce the next RDR for all systems.

Rockstar seem to be messing up the PS4/XBO versions at the moment: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-has-rockstar-really-downgraded-gta-5

v1.08 introduced LOD pop in, removed parallax occlusion mapping (POM) and anisotropic filtering (AF). The pop in was addressed in v1.09 but POM and AF are still not fixed, though Rockstar claim they are investigating it.

Considering that the framerate drops when driving though traffic were fixed on PS4 in v1.07, it would seem that the omission of POM and AF are bugs.

Yeah it was linked a few pages back saying that it is indeed a bug and that they're looking into it.

Yup it looks really bad on distance objects and is very obvious when driving in the rain and at night and distant objects covered by fog look awful. It's weird I am almost certain the patches aren't play tested prior to launch every patch takes 2 step forwards and then one step back, or in the case of the new armoured (bullet proof vehicles, fourteen steps back.)

So that explains the stable frame rate whilst driving around los santos then, it was a choppy mess before the patch.

It was a choppy mess before the 1.05 or so patch, in 1.07 is still had these features and ran smoother

Yesterday I pre ordered it,even after like 1.5 years I'm still really excited to play the game, I'm really sure I will play it a lot, pretty much like any other GTA.

Eh, he's right, and you're wrong.

The art direction for GTAIII, VC, IV most definitely had a cartoon-bent, what, with the heavy saturation of colours in IV and VC, the thick black lines in III, and the overall shading and texturing of character models.

Trying to brush off the evidence he used to prove the point (as opposed to baseless blithering about early 2000's engine limitation) in a dismissive or sarcastic manner is really just a bit pathetic.

Well, these days many people behave similar. They always know better. Yes, you can show them evidences but they will never change their original opinion, instead they just ridicule your evidences and show anger towards you (sarcastic and immature comments etc.). I dont know why people behave like that, but I always try to be polite to them :)

That's right Netnexus. But I also need to say, San Andreas, and Vice City on PC looked a little bit different compared to ps2 version.

    And here's comparison video

PS2 version had different colors and "orange" atmosphere, while PC version looked more "natural" (but it was missing important graphic filters and effects).

I need to say I liked ps2 colorfull presentation much more, but now after 10 years moders finally reacreated ps2 look :)

And this mod brings missing color filters to Vice City PC version :)
