New seasonal event are up! New set of races,time trial and drift(runs from 24.12-13.11)
Managed to get in top100 for a moment in cape ring time trial in my subaru but in like a minute dropped 50 places down.

This new events are harder, I only manage to get Gold an Nurburgring.

If they plan to release new events this often its going to be great to improve XP and credits, since I dont plan to repeat the same race over and over again in A spec just to get a few credits and almost none XP.

 

The extra cash sure comes in handy, bought a load of new cars today. Bentley Speed 8 Le Mans, the white/yellow Corvette from Le Mans and the Pagani Zonda Race Car.

 

You win the zonda during one of the bspec races.

Just finished the roadster endurance race, nice XP boost but 64000 credits and a crapy car is just frustrating for a 4 hour race.

I been reading and the cars you win on the other races and are all crap, expect for the Ford GT, I remember in GT4 you won an F1 car in one of the endurance races.

GT5 is definitely less rewarding in both credits and cars.


And when you pit in its nice to see nothing... no team changing the tires or refueling the car its just magic, just like in 1990 games.

 

It was a 24 hour Nurburgring race you got the F1 car, what a chore that was! but B spec x3 times fast forward always helped, i dont think u can do that now?

I found it quite easy to earn money in GT5, I have over 2 mil and havent sold a single car, level 21, few nice rides in the garage too, lambo's, ferrari's, GTR's, maseratti etc.

 

The nascar pits show animations but they are so slow compared to real life its painful for me to watch.

 

PD really needs to put in a save feature for 24 hour races period. I could live without a fast forward button if i could save my progress from the pits. But until they do something the 24 hour races can die in a fire.

You also get a few good cars, like the ford gt 70 car that has quite a bit of trade value, the jaguar xj race car, you get new FGT for one of the 24 hour races. BUt yea alot of the cars for the endurance are like wth but there are a few gems in there.

 

Well finally an update that actually does something

Loving the seasonal challenges, not only are they a decent challenge you actually get some decent rewardage for doing well in them. So far I've managed to gold all of the latest challenges and gotten silver in the GTR stage 5 challenge in the first set. Not only that after nearly a month of really duff server support I am actually able to connect first time every time... dunno could be that I just changed ISP but I think that is pure coincidence.

Also managed to complete the Formula GT event, I would have to test it further but I am almost sure the cars rubber band in that championship and the prize car is total arse for such a gruelling championship.

 

Not that zonda, it's the slightly older, dark green racing version.

 

I was quite surprised when i won that car from one endurance race as i was saving money to buy it
It's one of my favorites, sounds awesome and handles great.

 

FYI, you get an absolute **** box of the F1 Bspec championship

 

X1 challenge is...

... The first time I couldn't keep up with something without a steering wheel, seriously.

 

The car is not bad its just not that god since you can buy it in the used car shop, I was expecting something more exotic.


Now I am concentrating on the endurance races in B Spec, and I must warn you be careful because the career status of the drivers suffer badly, I think that in about 5 races you have to retire the driver.

This is just stupid.

As for a-spec I will only do it if they allow save games, since the race it self is not very challenging you just have to use the F1 car and you easily overlap the opponents more than 20 times.
So its just a matter of time not skills.

 

So do not use the FGT since you cannot use the f1 cars in races? If you want a challenge and less boredom pick something equal to the competition. For long races outside the indy 500 at lest, i lest pick a car i like to drive. Rather than the car i know i will outlap the whole field by 20 laps.

 

The new challenges are so damn hard! anybody done the RX-7 and got a decent place? I have two diff spec cars and they understeer too much and also with sports tires it spins out on 2nd gear a lot (i usually drive with traction controll OFF as well as others, only ABS-1).

Does anyone have tuning guides for RX-7, Mustang V8 challenge or any others? cheers

 

Just read the tuning manual and think... not all tuning set ups are good for everyone. Some people like a car with understeering, others oversteering and use that to cope with the flaws of a car.

 

thats true, but for races that take more than 4 hours its torture, knowing that a mistake could jeopardize the entire race, so its good to know you have a car that is alot faster than the others lol

It should be like in GT4, you could use the Bspec driver to race for you, and save the race at certain points.

 

Yea i agree with the save thing especially it is just mind boggling that well it seemed to utterly slip their minds....dragging your bobs into the race would be nice to. I mean the lot of them are not good for more than a few hours.
