wrt nurburgring, go wide and late apex on turns 1,2 and 3 buddy. then flat out early turn-in on turn 4.

 

Yea i got my nurburg time down to 2:18 need 5 more to get bronze but beat for the day suzuka was just too damn much a pain in my ass getting the last second i needed. bob can make do in the minolta or the FTG, once i get my first X1 i do not care if it take them an hour longer if they grinding while i sleep anyway.

 

GT5 v Forza: Fair Assessment from Car and Driver

 

They're so right about the sounds, Forza's are much more brilliant in quality and more different in terms of characteristics. You can say which car sounds a certain way, the Ferrari 430 for example.

Physics also hit right on the head, GP5 has better physics and is more challenging to drive.

Fun is personal so its prob. best to buy both games if you have both consoles.

A new update has been released for Gran Turismo 5.
The main contents of the update are as follows:

Seasonal Events
[Seasonal Events] have been added to the upper left side of the [GT Mode] - [GT Life] screen. From here you can participate in official online events from the Polyphony Digital team. In these events, all participants under the same regulations, and if you complete the event you will win rewards and experience. In Time Trials and Drift Trials, compete on the leader boards with players around the world.

Online Dealership
An [Online Dealership] has been added to the left center of the screen. In here you will find popular and rare used cars. You might just come across that one car you've always been looking for, that you haven't been able to find in the used car dealership.

Online Race Rewards and Experience
When you complete a race in the open lobby or my lounge, you will now gain rewards and experience points. Therefore if you are focused more on playing online, you'll still be able to gain rewards and levels that you need to progress in GT Life.

Driving Distance and Number of wins in Online Races
The driving distance and number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in Open lobby or My lounge will now affect your stats in Profile and the Garage. Here again the results from your online play will cumulate within GT Life

Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in Both A-Spec and B-Spec in GT mode- GT Life have been increased for a limited time only. This applies until the end of January 2011. This is a great chance for those who were previously have difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

Race Information Display
Is now available in the Start-Quick Options. You can also see this in Race Display in Options.

Save Data Backup
You can now copy and restore your save data. For details please refer to the in-game Manual

Personal BGM (menu)
From [options]-[hardware]-[Audio], it is now possible to set the Personal BGM (menu). This can also be accessed from the Music Library within GT Mode.

Car Name Change
The official name of the "Red Bull X1" has been changed to "Red Bull X2010"

Integration within the website
THe main features within GT Mode - Community can now be accessed through the "Gran-Turismo.com Official Website.

Important Note
We have made improvements to the Log within GT Mode - Community section,
in order to make its operation more stable. Please note that the information that was here before the update has been reset.

Some contents of the update will not be applied unless you sign into the Playstation Network when you play the game.


Don't be alarmed when you first enter in gt life, it tells lot's of random things like lvl15 rally event available and so on even if you are over that lvl.

Some other changes:

- More prizes for AMG driving school special events. 'Nurburgring 24h' and '4h' tracks for getting all bronze in intermediate, Mercedes-Benz 190e 2.5-16 evo II for all silver intermediate, and CLK-GTR for all gold intermediate.

- When pausing a replay, a new button in the top left lets you go back to the start of the replay...

 

Very nice read. They are both great games so it´s impossible to go wrong with any one of them although i prefer GT5.

Have to download the new patch to see all the goodies!...

And it´s really true that Microsoft has a license agreement with Porsche that forbids GT5 from having their cars on the game!?....

 

where is the PATCH that improves loading times?

 

A fast forward, backwards full control of the time would be the next thing to do, to help catch that perfect second and take a photo.

That will never happen unless they copy all the content from the bluray to the disc, and even so I don't think the PS3 can do much more...

 

i dont get what all the problems are with loading times, has everyone done the intitial install AND the full install that takes about an hour?

loading for me is about 10 seconds.

patch is pretty good, new car dealership, prize money seems to have increased and acouple of new race events.

looking good so far.

 

I find that hard to beliave even with the network cable off and all the music disabled.

You should count the time with a chronograph, you must me internally accelerated.

 

Update Done, finally I can hear to Evangelion OST on the menu they must have read my previous post.

The online dealership is much welcome, finally all the cars that I needed to advance on the game are there for me to buy including the F1.

I just cant seem to find the option to make the back up of the game, and no there is nothing about that on the game manual how can it be a reference to an option that wasn't available in the first place?

 

^^^Game saves are now unlocked, you can now copy it to a external memory device from the XMB.

The new seaosn events and the collectors dealership are good, will have a go at a few of those i think.

 

Just did one of the seasonal races that was on ssr5, 5laps, goal is to overtake all drivers and you can only enter with nissan gt-r(from all years) and there bhp, kg, tires restrictions too. Can't enter with gt-r academy version for some reason though. I managed to win it with GT-R 07 and got 100k xp and 1mil cr

 

And now if you are in a race and do quit it takes you to the race menu and not to the main menu! finally!!!

The custom BGM on the game menus for some reason stops working after a wille, I have to select the playlist again... They should have also removed the music on the GT auto garage, tuning that remains the default.

 

And now we can dupe any car in our garage lol. You know other day i mused that people might be able to farm x1s to sell etc now i know i did not think it through enough all you have to do is copy your save send car to dummy or friend delete save recopy your saved game over and boom got 2 cars for one.

So anyone got the prototype x1 unlocked be willing to dupe and share? lol. Know i will spend ages trying to gold sazuka and even then it it doubtful i can shave that much time off my bronze time to get there. Tho i would love to gold em for the car and the 800k cr.

 

please don't spread it. a lot already exploited the bday glitch, and ruined a lot of the car's values imo. but duping cars is the worst.

 

i dont see the point of cheating to get cars / birthday hacks for GT5... The game seems to be much shorter than GT4 was, and the beauty of it was to always have something more to aim for...

 

Well they are just 3d models with skins finally got bronze now time to take a week off and enjoy the cars i like to drive. B-spec can grind with the vettle.

The beauty is a bit ruined with the level systems being what it is, the beauty in past gts for me was earning my s-license and spending time tuning cars i wanted to run nurburg for day weeks at a time.

Being i got my ferraris, my bmws, my mclarens, etc i already got most of the cars i like to actually drive, but there is a bit of pokemon about gt5 i mean i can grind up cash to buy most anything but the level reqs lock that out even i were to spend all day running american championship or dream car cup.

 

Dont understand this myself, why pay good money for a game then cheat at it, talk about cutting your nose off to spite yourself.
