Seeing the 3070ti reviews pull like 300watts was enough to make me say no thanks. even 3060 card pull more wattage then my 1070ti does

My point is that at lower resolutions dlss isnt gonna help, but at 4k and beyond, it does

The noVidia 3K series are criminally power inefficient. Even with a cap of 350W (technically 375W, but the BIOS fights me tooth and nail to not allow the maximum) my stupid 3080 is hard power limited, all the time, so I'll never know how high it can OC because it's not worth trying to get around that 375W limit since it's already at stupidity.

This is what happens in a FUBAR market where companies feel like they can do anything they want because they'll get away with it. You know it's in a state absolute degeneracy when people are hoping that INTEL, of all the scum in the world, help the market partially recover by potentially introducing some semblance of competition, or availability.

Yeah, the samsung node aint great... aint with phone chips, and it aint with gpu's... i still dont understand why nvidia went with samsung, when their node has been underperfoming vs tsmc in phones for years... must have been a very good (cheap) deal they got.

    This is why:

They saved like 1/4 a cent per 3090 die by going with Samdung "8nm" (same crap as their 12nm node) process. Turned out somewhat in their favour considering TSMC can't keep up/the entire industry being torn apart by miners and scalpers.

and criminally prices especial by some of these other companies 599 for default and 800 for oc card that has 100 more mhz... I have not seen such stupid prices in long time on cards but current "issues" arnt doing use any favors.

I have game for ps5 and while RT look nice on it im sorry but 60 FPS win all time for me. Sadly mt 1070ti will not give me same performance at lest not with 4k not sure about 1440p.

The RT hit to performance is not worth it to me. and in a lot case Rasterization way of doing lighting is just as good most cant see difference, and most cause I cant. there cases where you can flat out see the difference though. but if it cant keep 60 fps it maters not to me

I predicted and called all this the moment the first Titan was released. I described it step by step and said there'd never be a return to normalcy, and that it only sets up for bigger spikes of insanity. It's horrifying to think that, at the moment, Intel really are our only hope. We just have to pray to the FSM that Intel won't price fix with nVidia and AMD and actually make a push into the market.
At least you managed to pry a PS5 out of a scalper's fingers, not bad for the exclusives considering Sony push hard to keep PC releases delayed, some for years. Considering RT was an afterthought, it's at least a nice option for the kiddies who somehow aren't sensitive to sub 60 fps. Personally depending on the art style, type, and speed of a game, even 60 fps can make me feel sick if the frame pacing is off. That doesn't do me any favours, it just locks me into being stuck with buying insanely expensive gear or playing old games.

As i get old I notice I have come to not beable to play 30fps short of it has ZERO framepacing issue and ZERO drops which rare. it has to 60FPS I can deal with Drops here and there but if framepacing issue it become as bad as 30 fps too. ON the consoles that HZD and FF7R only game dont "upset" me runing 30fps

Swtor (mmo) has serious framepacing issue even when it lock @ 60 fps and even then that game has serously issue keep 60 fps or even 30, but most game i play keep 60 fps with little to no drop or pacing issues i also still playing @ 1080p on pc games, I wont swtich to 1440p till I get 1440p monitor simply cause i dont want switch res each time i going from gaming on monitor to gaming on uhdtv

Bought the ultimate edition on GOG a few weeks ago for about AU$23, but grabbed the freebie anyway...

I've been playing games too long I think - looking for something new and ground-breaking, and although this definitely isn't it IMO, it's not a bad game.

Sometimes feels as though there's only four different enemy types in the game, but it's (relatively) good fun smashing things into a million pieces (for $23).

On a water-cooled 6900XT Liquid Devil GPU at 3440 x 1440, this game can push core temp to about 78c, and lifts the coolant temp up 9-10c after an hour or so of play. Seems pretty demanding, and fps with RT on ain't too hot on the AMD card...

I quite enjoyed this game, got it via gamepass, fun game, so getting it free on Epic is a no brainer.

But poor Epic, they keep giving me free games(150 so far) and i keep taking them, then stabbing them in the back by not spending a sinlge penny on their store. lol

I'm pretty sure I have over 200 free games from them, and yet only a few are any good. No not poor Epic, they're trying to brute force their way into the market... and most importantly sold soul their souls to TenCent/China, so frack them. They won't get a cent from me so long as TenCent owns any % of them. The CCP are the enemy of the world, and I won't send a penny their way even indirectly through Epic/TenCent.

    speaking from experience i see

    1440p dlssq already looks great

imagine tsmc's 7nm further taken up by nvdia
they went with samsung for production volume

I doubt it as these contracts are negotiated long in advance, long before anyone could have seen signs of what was coming. They took the cheaper option, what must have been the much cheaper option in reality considering nVidia aren't braindead, they know what a disadvantage Samdung's 8nm process is vs TSMC's 7.

If i remember right they where planning to use Samsung's equivalent to tsmc's 7nm (on density at least ) but Samsung was not able to get it working in time so they where forced to 8nm .... I might be wrong though ....we have to consider assuming your cpu order can start as soon as you place it no delays .... It takes at least 3 months till the order is on your hands . Semi conductor fabs are not as fast as ofice printers cultivating the waffers takes weeks++.

I got reprimanded by kisshot and some other guy for not knowing that free games go into the deals/offers thread.
my thread was closed and a day later HH opens a separate news thread for this.
