GPU stress test crashes with black screen

    Today, I Run GPU stress test in driver software for 60 seconds, GPU crashes with a black screen, why did this situation occur?

    Motherboard : ROG ZENITH EXTREME
    Operation System / BIOS version : BIOS-2001, Windows 10 Pro Workstation version_1909
    Graphics Card / Driver : ROG-STRIX-RXVEGA64-O8G-GAMING with driver Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.6.2
    CPU vendor : AMD 2950X CPU
    Memory : Gskill [Trident Z RGB] F4-3200C14Q-64GTZR [DDR4-3200 64GB (16GBx4)
    PSU : Phanteks Revolt X PH-P1000PS 80PLUS Platinum, 1000W


    At last, I turn the fan speed just like this, and run GPU stress test for 30 seconds, the test is passed.

    It crashes probably because VRM or Hotspot temperatures going crazy. Check temps using HWinfo or some other program. You can post it here.

    Its a common problem of Strix cards. I suggest you to change thermal paste and thermal pads. You can also undervolt your card for better temperatures and lower power consumption. You can use these settings as a start point and tweak a little bit more for your taste.

    Just sell it to miners and get a 6700xt for the same amount.

    Could be. Use 21.4.1 for a while and test it. If it crashes again it is not driver-side problem.

    Edit : And consider undervolting your GPU.
