    Hi all,
I have a Asus nvidia gtx 650 ti boost gpu..
Recently i notice that Its max temp is 90c and average is 85c at full load.
    what could be the reason..
This gpu is 5 years old. Should i remove the heatsink and reapply thermal compound or what..??

Open cooler, clean it and apply new thermal pasts. Try not to damage heat pads for memory, if the card uses these.

its actually 48c outside but thats not the case.
In winters when its freezing outside then too it reaches the same temps.

You might see a 2-3C drop in temps once the thermal compound cures a bit. Is the GPU fan running at all? My friend had a similar thing after about 5-6 years the fan just flat out stopped spinning no matter what temp the card got to. We thought possibly the fan controller died or the fan itself went bad. He ended up just replacing the card with a GTX1060.

If you take the card out and try to spin the fan with your finger it should spin easily. If it requires a good amount of force to move the fan it's likely the fan is dead. At that point you'd have to replace the heatsink/fan on the card or just replace the video card entirely.

You can just open the PC's side panel and have a look to know whether it spins or not, assuming a monitoring program is not to be trusted. If it spins producing weird noises, chances are it won't reach much of an RPM measure.

    Yes thats the issue.
One out of the two fans doesn't spin at low temps.
Its only when temps rises and power to the fan increases then it starts to spin. And yes both the fans spin tightly not smoothly like new.
