ok so i bought a new 6950xt but i only have a 750 watt psu....i figured it would be fine but i keep crashing when running triple a games and even 3dmark...and when i say crash i mean the computer shuts off! cpu i am using right now is the 5600x on a x570 aorus master mobo....have a 5950x on its way to replace it...but anyways this crashing thing is driving me nuts, I have looked at clock speeds in case of any overclock i dont know about but only thing is the card has that oc bios and normal bios mode its on the oc right now.Oh the card is a red devil. Any help would be awesome!

Pc shutting down is a sign of a bad psu. What card did you run before 6950xt?

Is the PSU you have multirail or single?

also want to mention, i re installed drivers but this time without wattman just as a precaution...i idid run a successful 3dmark but the score was very low like 17k on regular time spy....now before i changed the drivers i ran firestrike and oddly it ran ok and score was 39k ... it just seems like its hit or miss whether the pc will crash or not when first installed it was always crash then kinda petered out to 50/50 idk wtf is going on lol

Once the new cpu arrives as it pulls more power issue will only get worse. I would suggest you upgrade the psu before that.

Best to have a quality 850+ PSU for 6950xt. With the 5950x, I would looks towards a 1000w PSU.
Best to have a bit of headroom.

I like it when our confident gurus write a verdict even without asking for crush details!

You can also try and unvolt the GPU and see if that makes a difference.

I had the same with my 6900xt after replacing my 1080Ti, had to run the card at a reduced speed, if i tried to run it at stock the LED on my CPU block would flicker then complete crash/power cut.
I then hooked just the GPU up to a separate PSU so running the original PSU for the mobo and everything else and a second (spare Corsair 850) for just the GPU and all was good.
Bought an Asus ROH Thor 1000w and never had any issues after.

6950X can spike to ~550W and that would trip lower wattage PSU.

well just my luck the psu i ordered came defective so going thru the process of getting a new one, but i had a question if i used say a 500 watt psu just for the gpu alone would that be ok i wonder? just for now until the new unit comes? im guessing not since it can still spike to 531w or i could use the 500 watt for the mobo and cpu etc and use the 750 watt for gpu only?

Ok lets go by steps, change steps if still issues, OFC check temps is always the 1 one and easy.
1- DDU the drivers and put the lastest ones
2- Use 2 cables from the PSU to GPU
    3- Reset CMOS
    4- Try another PSU 850w GOLD +

If all fails try a single stick of ram per slot, If it fails RMA the GPU

    Im running my 6800xt on a 750w Gold psu, with a 350w profile, never had issues, 5800x3d ,b550Unify ,4x m.2 , 6800xt, 14fans and a open loop, 64g of ram.

No need bud, not until he swaps out the old PSU because as everybody says these symptoms are classic for a poor quality, weak, failing PSU.
With PSUs always go for quality over quantity.
